can't get anything done
i am starting to feel the stress of being a new mom. dd won't sleep unless she is being held. as soon as i put her down, no matter how long she is sleeping for, she starts screaming. not crying , but screaming her head off.
i dont know what to do...any suggestions???? i cant hold her all day long

Unfortunately....at this point, you might just have to hold her all day. I would definitely invest in a sling or a carrier. I carried Ava around morning, noon and night for the first 9 weeks of her life. It's only now, at 11.5 weeks that she really can sit by herself for an extended period of time. ANd by extended, I mean like 15 minutes.

Re: can't get anything done
I personally like the baby sling better than the carrier. you carry the baby in a cradled position and it feels more comfortable than the carrier, although I do use a cheapy carrier I have that was like 15 bucks from target. I had the baby bjorn with the back support, but she didn't like to be carried in it enough for me to justify keeping a 120 dollar carrier, so I returned it. But I definitely used both the sling and the carrier a lot. It was good for getting laundry done and using the computer and other light things around the house.

Re: can't get anything done
up until they are three months it is considered the 4th trimester. Your job is to comfort her, adjust her to this world, and keep her happy. That's it!
Just know that it is temporary, and that vacuums work for husbands, relatives, and friends too - so put them to work!!!

Good point
DS will be 3 months on Monday so it's still the 4th trimester...
