When do you start counting...
when your pregnant? Is from O day or does it go by implantation? When the doctor tells you you're "this many weeks" what are they going by?

It starts by your LMP.
That's why most women are already about 4 weeks pregnant when they get their BFP.

It starts by the first day of your last period. Unless you O late then it could be later.
But the norm is the first day of your last period. So for me that's November 2nd... even though I tech wasn't pregnant for a few weeks after that. The gestational age is the actual pregnant age.... so one could be 4 weeks pregnant but 2 weeks gestational.

yeah now I get it, thanks! I was always wondering this, although Im 1 of 7 and I have 17 nieces and nephews you think I would know more about this stuff by now

Honestly... surprsingly very few people know this. I certainly did not until I found myself pregnant!
And when I tell people how far along I am they think I was pregnant for my wedding and didn't know it.... but infact i was at the end of my period... so I have to explain it all to them.

Yeah I never understood. I was always like  huh but now i get it, I love these boards! you learn something new everyday

It sure is! But I've become obsessed with letting people know that I wasn't pregnant at the wedding. I have no idea why. There certainly wouldn't be anything wrong with it. haha!!
