My Friends Sono Pic...
I can't believe how clear this is...she is 13/14 weeks and they already found the sex...its a girl!!
Her Dr. has this very high tech machine in California, I hope when my time comes they have it here!!

We do have that in NY - it is a 3D/4D sono. Very cool. When the baby is bigger you can actually see it whole facial details.

It's a 3D/4D sono. Most doctors don't have them in their office and usually insurance won't cover them unless medically necessary. However, there are places in NY you can go and pay for a 3D/4D sono and I can tell you firsthand............BEST.EXPERIENCE.EVER!!!! It was AWESOME!!!! They are as cheap as $70'ish but different packages cost more. We went to Impact Technologies in East Meadow and paid around $200-250. We went twice and got all the 3D images on CD as well as a CD of the baby moving in real time.
FYI - When you get pregnant if you choose to pay for one I HIGHLY recommend you wait until you are around 32 weeks to have it done. At that point your baby looks like a cute chubby baby with distinct features. In fact, when my DD was born she looked EXACTLY like her 3D sono at 32 weeks. I also had it done at around 23 weeks and the baby still looks "alien like" at that stage so the images were not as fantastic as they were later in my pregnancy. It's worth doing, I thought it was so wonderful to see my DD moving in real time and to see her features outside of just a black and white sono image. Great, great experience!!

I am sorry, and I dont mean to offend anyone, but when I was pregnant with DS I asked my ob about this. He strongly recommended that women NOT do this. Both he and his wife are OB/GYNs and they feel that there is enough research to suggest that the soundwaves on these 3d 4d sonograms may be harmful to the baby.
Just want people to make informed decisions.

I saw a high risk Dr. most of my pregnancy. Once I hit 30 weeks I went for bi-weekly sonos, and then Week 35-38 weekly sonos (I was induced at 39 weeks).
Anyway, once I hit 30 weeks, the high risk sonographer always gave us 3d/4d pictures of DD.

i have to agree. . . even in Dr. Oz's new book ( or maybe it was on his show ) says that there has been evidence of BURN marks on babies who have had these done outside of a doctor's office without trained professionals!

It's a 3D sono pic. The 4D part of the sono is being able to watch the baby move in real time. They gave us a video of the 4D portion and CD of all the 3D pics.
