Re: Grey

Gray is hell.
It looks blue, it looks pink, it looks taupe.
Finding a TRUE gray with no undertones is soooo hard.
What shade are you looking for? Very light gray? Medium gray? Greige?

This. We didn’t move into our new house for 3 months because we couldn’t find the perfect grays. All I can say is good luck!

Re: Grey

It can look one way on the swatch, one way in pics of rooms painted in it, and COMPLETELY different on YOUR walls. It can look one way in your bff's house then a WHOLE other color completely in yours.
I can tell you a gray that FINALLY worked for me, and it will be horrible in your house and vice versa.
Soooooo fuking frustrating

We just painted our new house different grays and they all leaned towards a blue gray once on the wall. The only one that was close a pure gray was BM cement gray

I've recently painted rooms BM Wish and Stone Harbor, which are both greys with beige undertones. I also used BM Owl Grey which is a lighter grey with (maybe) a bluish undertone

I did my bathroom in BM moonshine which is pretty much almost exactly grey owl.
I love it. It's super light though.

My kitchen is BM Chelsea Gray and I looooove it! It’s a medium/dark color and I don’t notice any undertones, actually, but I do get a “warm” (as opposed to cool) vibe from it. Floors are a dark hardwood, so I can’t help with that.

We painted the majority of our house in BM Himalayan Trek. I bought MANY grays and this was our favorite. It's in the lightest, most bright room and it's in our basement and looks gray everwhere.

No matter what, buy a lot of samples and put them on all your walls. Look at them in all lights at every time of the day. Just because it looks good in one person's house does not mean you'll like it in your own.

We found the truest grays to be BM Stonington Grey (more medium tone) and BM Whale Grey (dark color). BM Arctic Grey is also really nice, but leans to a bit of a blue undertone, but not drastic.

Stonington grey was very blue in our kitchen. We ended up with Smoke Embers and it shows true grey in our house.
