2018 Accomplishments and Goals (Spin off to Accomplishments thread)

Trying to get my butt in motion to lose 10 pounds to start. Yesterday I jogged a mile and worked on upper body at home with weights. My goal today is to jog another mile and dome some ab work. What is everyone else doing today? My goals this week are to cut down or stop late night snacking and to get more sleep. Those late night tv shows I love keep me up and I snack. Also to take food to work because I end up eating junk if I do not.

I thought I’d check in. I’ve been eating well. I weighed myself and I was not happy with the number (it’s too low).

That being said, I’m going through a lot of stress right now. I just try to concentrate on eating.

I hope it gets better and all your stresses go away soon. Chat Icon

I am trying to do the same this week. yesterday, we walked a trail (5 miles).

I also did a small meal prep for today and tomorrow since I didn't have time to go to the supermarket - actually just didn't feel like it Chat Icon

Today I brought my lunch to work and some snacks. I am also going to try the intermittent fasting again starting today. I am trying to workout 6 days this week!

Yeah, I hope so, too. Thanks for your encouragement!

The good thing is that I am eating well. I just try to stuff food in when I can. It has been take out, but whatever gets me going, I do. It’s just so scary going down from 145 to 113 without trying (I have been checked out by a doctor). I guess it’s good I’m not a stress eater, but I can’t stand the anxiety.

Re: 2018 Accomplishments and Goals (Spin off to Accomplishments thread)

So I made it to Kickboxing last night, day 3 of working out this week. Also packed my lunch for today even though we have catered lunch on Wednesdays. My office makes it impossible to eat healthy. I am on Day 3 of the intermittent fasting; which, is alot harder than I thought it would be. Yesterday, I did cheat and ate one of the apple tart desserts they had lying aroundChat Icon Chat Icon

-Exercise routine so far: -
*Sunday - 4 Mile trail walk (threw in a log carry)
*Monday - 4 Mile walk around the park, 35 box jumps (benches)
*Tuesday - Kickboxing, 30 min light exercise on Arc Climber
*Wednesday - 30 min bootcamp, 2 mile walk with a little sprint around the park -
Thursday - 30 min Chinese kickboxing

Meal Prep Plan - eating one big meal, rest protein shakes and teas:

Monday - BBQ chicken, sweet Potato, Broccoli, Caprese salad, Sugar free pudding and Cheese Stick

Tuesday - BBQ chicken, sweet Potato, Broccoli, some pico de gallo, Sugar free pudding and Cheese Stick. Dinner - Acaí Nutella Bowl from Reg Mango

Wednesday - Tuna Salad Lettuce wraps, Snacks: Fruit, Sugar Free Pudding, Cheese Stick, Turkey and Cheese roll-ups.

I have a crockpot Chicken Chili Cooking - so I may have that for dinner or a protein shake.

Thursday - Cheeseburger in between butter lettuce, sugar free Jello, cheese stick, hard boiled egg, fruit cup -banana, strawberries, grape. Dinner - protein shake

Friday - Sweet Potato Breakfast skillet, Chicken Chili for lunch.

My next race is 4/21 and then the big one is on 4/28 (14mile OCR)!!

ETA: Weeks progress in bold

2018 Accomplishments and Goals (Spin off to Accomplishments thread)

Jumping on board bc I'm so happy to have achieved a big goal: after 3.5 years of not being able to get on my wedding and engagement rings I'm finally wearing them comfortably! It really makes me so happy to look down see them on my finger.

Pound wise, I'm down about 5-6 and would love to lose another 3 or 4. Nothing big but I feel so much better after having been stuck at the same weight since having dd2. I've been trying to eat more plant based and doing intermittent fasting. Next goal is to tone up my belly but I am not good at exercising.

Wow congrats!!Chat Icon Chat Icon 5-6 lbs is huge, don't diminish it.

I lost 9lbs in January and went stagnant. Good thing is I haven't gained it back but I do need to lose another 30. Which is why I started meal prepping again and fasting.

ThanksChat Icon I need to be better about prepping breakfasts and at least planning lunches. I spend so much time worrying about picky kids and my gf husband I don't even shop for myself for lunches.

The meal planning and shopping is integral for me. If I don't have it then I fall off the rails and calling for takeout is just way too easy. Spending 30 minutes during the weekend planning break/lunch/dinner for the week and putting it all in MFP in one go is so helpful. So during the week when something else comes around (free lunch at work, or something) I just look at my daily allowance and say "Nope, lunch is already accounted for!"

5-6 pounds is great! Work on one thing at a time (this is in regards to your excercising comment).

Yep, it's such a life saver for me. I totally avoided the lunch because I had my tuna wraps ready for me in the fridge.

I also did a lazy meal prep since Sunday I went hiking. Sunday I spent an hour for food for Mon-Tues., Last night I spent hour prepping my lunch and snacks for today and the Chicken Crockpot. The crcokpot will last 2-3 dinners. So instead of spending hours on sunday for the week, I broke it up. Tonight my husband will grill burgers, so we can break that up with the chili. Tomorrow or Friday, may do another crockpot (Steak) for the weekend.

This morning I weighted 170 (down from 195). I can't believe I'm almost in the 160s! The last 2 times I was in the 160s - they were unusual circumstances. 1) when I was having gallbladder issues and I lost 20 pounds in a month b/c I was afraid to eat (if I ate any fat I'd end up in the ER). 2) after I had my son and I was breastfeeding - which dropped weight fast!

So this week I exercised twice. That is an improvement. Trying not to only work out on the weekends. I reduced my carbs which is great but still snacking at night with my kids goldfish crackers. Could be worse I guess! My goals for the weekend are to jog, walking lunges, and abs. And meal prep for the week!!!

Yay - that's awesome!

I finally dropped to 168! I can't believe I made it here and still ate nachos along the way. Chat Icon I'm thinking of joining a beginning runners group to meet people. I'm already pretty motivated to do Couch to 5K (especially since I can run on the treadmill and catch up on TV!) but it'll be nice to have that little push instead of staying in my comfort zone of re-doing the weeks (I've been doing C25K regularly since February and I'm just now on Week 2).

Re: 2018 Accomplishments and Goals (Spin off to Accomplishments thread)

I’m doing OK. I had a bad stomach virus over the weekend, but now my appetite is back in full control. I’ll take advantage of it while I can. I notice when I get info about my divorce and paperwork, I just don’t eat. That’s frustrating to me. I haven’t weighed myself because I don’t want to count numbers, but my clothes fit the same, so I’m good.

I usually just like protein and veg, but this week I had a nice burger and baked fries and also a bacon Mac and Cheese. They were pretty high calorie, so I’m glad about that. The thing is I usually get Hello Fresh, and their meals are pretty healthy, but I find the portion sizes to be too big.

Ah, I’m working on it.

Congrats to the others!

Re: 2018 Accomplishments and Goals (Spin off to Accomplishments thread)

So last week was suppose to be my last intense workout week before the big race. I worked out two days and got so sick. I did manage to do the Citifield race, it was hard but I pulled through. Good thing about being sick is I didn’t eat a lot lol.

I travel to west coast for work this week and then come back straight into the race. This week while I’m away, I am hoping to do 30 min light cardio a day.

How’s this for a weird comment!

I’ve lost almost 30 pounds and some of my pant hems are dragging on the floor. I posted it on FB (and that I want to lose 20 more) and a guy from high school said - I always thought you were pretty. Keep up the good work!

Um - what does losing weight have to do with being pretty? I wasn’t before bc I was 50 pounds overweight?! People are dense sometimes!
