Suffolk Early Intervention Therapist/Agency Recommendations
Hi All,
I am taking my 18 month old to the Suffolk County Early Intervention office on Tuesday. He is speech delayed. The woman said there would be a list of about 40 therapists/agencies that I would pick an evalutor from. Can anyone recommend who they used?

I second kids in action. Everything from the social worker to the therapists have been fabulous! They are wonderful to work with.

Suffolk Early Intervention Therapist/Agency Recommendations
They will go over the process when you go into the office. The agency will come to your home and do a general evaluation, they'll focus on your area of concern but they'll look at all areas. If your child qualifies, you'll go back to set up the services and his goals. You can stick with the same agency if they're available or switch to another. You'll go back every 6 months to review everything for however long you qualify.
We didn't go for speech but Little Angels in blue point is wonderful.

Kids in action in ISLIP for evaluation.
We go to Good Sam Rehab for speech and OT in West ISLIP. Can’t say enough good things about them. Love them.

For the evaluation we went there.
For services we went to the office twice a week, then because my son’s issue was pragmatics she went to his daycare once a week to work with him in a social setting.

We used NIS. They came to our house for the eval. They were great. We ended up using Little Angels in Bayport for services though. DD LOVES her therapist.

I forgot we also used them for one evaluation. I wasn't a fan of the occupational therapist but everyone else was really amazing.

We use st Charles as our agency but my daughter’s speech therapist is from metro. She’s amazing.
