PVC Fence color
Our neighbor wants to put up a new fence, but I don't love the color they want. Can I have a different color put on my side?

ETA: Sorry didn't understand your question originally. do you mean you are sharing like a backyard fence or something? If so, I don't think it can be one color on one side, and a different color on the other. If they are paying for the entire fence, it is really their decision. If you are splitting the cost (alot of people do that in my neighborhood regardless of who's property it is because it benefits all), then sit down and agree one one you both like

I think if they are purchasing the fence, they get to choose what color. You can always buy your own fence in the color you want.

The slats are the same color on both sides.
If you are splitting the cost you have a say but if they are paying they have 100% of the decision.

Your neighbor's fence, their decision. If you don't like it, then you can put up your own fence, on your own property.

The fence has to go on someone's property. Presumably it's on theirs, and surround their property? I assume you only have 1 side of your property that this fence will face. In that case, it's nice that you're offering to pay for part of the fence, but it's their fence. I never understood neighbors sharing the cost of a fence.

If you are splitting the cost then yes I would make sure you like the color. If not then I wouldn't help pay.

I agree with this its really their fence I would not be splitting the cost with them at all.
You can always put up your own fence right next to theirs in the color you want but don't pay for theirs you do not have too.
When we moved in my back yard neighbor already had a PVC fence up so I did not bother putting one up for myself I did the sides and my next door neighbor offered at one point to split it because there fence had fell down but we didn't accept it. They looked out cause their other neighbor and back yard neighbor and PVCS so they only paid for the gates for their yard.

I understand it completely. If it's a nice new fence, even if it's on their property it will benefit both homes because it looks alot nicer. If my neighbor was putting in a new fence and it was a color and style we both agreed upon, I would have no problem splitting the cost of it at all.

But it's their property. The day they want to take it down, it's their prerogative to do so. Now you've paid for a fence that maybe you still liked, but they are taking it down.

My first thought is get the basic white, the colors aren't for everyone and they are more money.

but why would you ask your neighbor? I never understood this theory. If I'm buying a fence for My house, why would mr smith want to pay for it? its crazy to me.

It cuts down the cost to fence in your own yard? You wouldn't have to pay full price to fence the shared side.
