where would you go
If you and DH each had $1,000 in flight vouchers that needed to be used by the middle of May, 2018, where would you go?
Travel will probably be between January and May (avoiding winter and spring break times).
We don't have to use the full $1,000 in one shot. We can each take multiple trips until the $1,000 each is used.

Re: where would you go
We just got back from there and had issues (which is where we go the vouchers from). We try to get there every other year or so and I would LOVE to go again in the winter, but was trying to think of something different since it's like "free" money.

It's probably only going to be for a week so anything too far would be pushing it.

Re: where would you go
I've been to Spain and Iceland. Would love to go to Tahiti, but not for one week - too long of a flight for that short of a trip! I've been through most of Europe. I would love to do South Africa - DH has no desire.
DH said we'll just use it for short trips but I feel like that's wasting it!!

Re: where would you go
I've never been to the Netherlands or Switzerland, so those are possibilities. DH has never been to the UK so we could do Ireland.
We've both traveled a lot through Europe so it's hard to find some place we haven't been. Lately we've been trying to stick to North America just because even though I've been all through Europe, I haven't seen much of the US past the east coast, California and Hawaii.

Re: where would you go
If you want to do something in the US....go see Alaska. Beautiful state.
Outside the US. Maybe Croatia. It's suppose to be beautiful there.

Re: where would you go
I would love to go to Alaska but since all of DH's vacation time this year is already booked, it would have to be in 2018 and the credits expire in early May 2018. Alaska in the winter is a no-go for me - !!!
We keep saying we need to do it one summer.

Re: where would you go
If you have problems deciding where to go, you can send the vouchers to me j/k
I'd do Spain, because although I've been there, there are some cities I'd like to go to. Or Portugal or Cyprus. Haven't been there, but heard it's beautiful.

You might just have to book the flight before the credits expire. Check the details of the credit.

Re: where would you go
I'd do Alaska, Europe or Ecuador with a side trip to the Galapogos Islands. It's possible you just need to use the voucher by May 2018 and fly later. That's how United's vouchers work. And what the heck happened that you got $1000 vouchers?

Re: where would you go
The credits say they're valid for one year from date of issue. The woman on the phone at delta said travel must be completed on or before the explanation date but I will call again to confirm.
We got the credits because delta was a mess the day we flew. There were weather delays (not their fault) but we were bumped out of first class on our original flight even though we had boarding passes already. (told too bad it's coach or nothing even though we paid for first). They said the flight was overbooked and there was nothing they could do. When we complained we were put on a later flight in first but that flight got in almost 4 hours later.
It didn't seem to matter to them that we had checked in and were given boarding passes like 8 hours earlier in Maui (this was in LA).

These fking airlines are a disgrace. Their business practices are abhorrent.

It's really horrible. The gate agent in LA basically told me that someone with more status than us wanted our seats so too bad for us! WTF???
