I really like living here, but it's all I've ever known. I am sure that I could probably be happy anywhere though. My husband and I have jobs that we love with great work/balance. We can afford to live here comfortably, not that we couldn't use more money!
I find people to be very friendly. When I read about people being rude on here, I am surprised. People hold doors for me, say please and thank you. Random people will talk to me or offer help. I love the beaches! Love going out east! All of my family and most of my friends are here. I also love what my school district has become and I am pretty sure it is considered not one of the best by many. I also love diversity and I feel like where I live offers that.
I do agree we live in a fast paced world but I think technology adds to that. I have worked very hard to quiet my mind and to focus on what is really important and that certainly helps. I also agree about random garbage on the highways. THAT annoys me. Otherwise, I love it here.

There is a lot to love.
Having 4 season. Beaches, farms, wineries, historical sites, Proximity to the city, homes with land, unique restaurants (not just chains), diners, amazing pizza and bagels.

There really is no comparison. Its night and day.
Our beaches are ok but not even in the same league as Florida beaches in terms of aesthetic beauty.
The water color alone is night and day.
After going to the beach in Florida...both coasts....LI beaches make me sad....
