Amazon memberships
Is Prime worth it? What about for kindle books? And what about the upgrade to Fresh for grocery delivery
How much does that all cost a month for you and is it worth it?
For budgeting purposes i try hard to stay away from any subscriptions or membership including the gym

Re: Amazon memberships
I held off for a long time on a prime subscription because I honestly don't love Amazon (company ethics, issues with shipping) but we got it when we had dd2 and it's worth it. I love it for the subscribe and save savings (esp diapers), 2 day shipping so no schlepping to stores for anything - vitamins, birthday presents, basically anything. I will buy some kindle books with the monthly or daily deals, but haven't yet done kindle unlimited. I tend to just borrow e-books from the library. We don't do fresh because a few brands we use they don't carry.

Amazon memberships
I love my Prime account! I have a firestick, and love to be able to watch the Amazon exclusive series and movies, along with the other free movies they have. I also use it for music streaming in my car through blue tooth and at home. I love being able to order toilet paper and have it in two days. Scott tube free! Hard to find in the store! I love being able to order "harder to find" stuff, without going to 12 stores to get it. Totally worth it to me! I also order my Grandma some products she uses every month and have it ship right to her. She is elderly, vision impaired, and doesn't get out.

Re: Amazon memberships
I love it. Shipping in two days, free returns most of the times. If you decide to use delay shipping (around 5 days) you get credit in other items. We also use amazon fresh. They don't have some of the brands we like or items, but for those they do, the prices are great. Sometimes you get very good deals. DH once got a 12 cans coke pack for like $1. Getting the house hold supplies at home is amazing, without having to go to the store, and carry stuff. I feel we save in gas, tolls, specially time, when using amazon.

If it weren't for prime and subscribe and save we'd be living in an empty house and using leaves for toilet paper.

Yup! As long as your car has bluetooth. Easy peasy, no DH required lol. Open your Amazon music app, turn your bluetooth setting on in your car (mine toggles between radio, cd, sirius and bluetooth), then it just plays right through the speakers!

Amazon memberships
I can not go back to life before prime! So worth it to me. I subscribe a save a lot (dishwasher soap, contact solution, tp, sunscreen, granola bars, k cups, different things every month depending on sales and coupons). Christmas shopping, birthday gifts for class mates, party supplies, shoes, clothes, I even got my girls' Christmas dresses from amazon this year.
We stream shows and I get lots of books for free. There is a free selection plus they email monthly with 6 new release books and you can choose one.
I liked into the grocery box once but it didn't seem worth it to me.

Re: Amazon memberships
I've had Prime for years, for the amount of shopping I do through Amazon it's SO worth it. Plus we have access to streaming movies, music, and free books every month.
I also have Kindle Unlimited for books and I am using the heck out of that subscription but I am a HUGE reader. I had tried it when it first came out and I wasn't impressed but they've since added so many more titles and now I think it's worth it. Between Kindle Unlimited and the library, I haven't actually bought a book in years.
We also have a subscription to Kindle Free Time for the kids and their Kindle Fire tablets. It's great, there are tons of age appropriate content and no ads or in-game purchases. I never worry about what they are playing or watching on their tablets.

Can you have the app on more than one device ? DD wants me to subscribe to spotify and wonder if she would be satisfied with prime music?

Same here! I don't do Fresh because I'd rather pick produce and meats out myself to make sure they really "fresh" but we pretty much buy everything else there. I don't even set foot in Target anymore!

I think it's when you set it up to automatically order something for you on a regular basis. So if you have something you use all the time, you can subscribe to it, and have it auto shipped every month, every 2 months etc. And I believe you get a discount for doing it that way, hence the "save"

we got prime when we got the echo
at first i was like this is not worth it?
but now we started using it for prime shipping, got a firestick AND i realized that we get a ton of extras on the echo that my mom (no prime) doesnt.
DW would always buy presents for out of state family last minute and pay out the .... in shipping so this made it worth it too!
streaming in car = interesting. are there commercials? thinking this could replace paying $5 for pandora one....

Yep. If you have 5 items delivered on your delivery day each month you get 15% off. What's nice is you can change the items every month. So one month I may get sponges, pasta, contact solution, kind bars, and coffee but the next month I cancel a bunch of those and get totally different stuff.

Are these prices with 15% off cheaper than store brand or sales on equivalent items in a supermarket? I know there is the convenience factor too...

I think so. I'm a sahm so we can't afford to pay extra for convenience! I follow a fb group called pink rose mama and she shares when there are good deals. If you combine a price reduction with a coupon and the s&s discount you can really score. The next month without the coupon and with a possible price increase it may be similar to store price but it still pays off bc they're are so many times you can beat them. The other day she shared a deal for dishwasher tabs for example. 80 tabs worked out to about $7. I get nauseous in the store with how much they charge for those things. 27 rolls of Scott tp I just paid $12 which I think is better than I get at the supermarket. Target may be similar but I save nothing when I walk into target bc of all the crap I leave with.

No commercials. It's not live streaming though. You select from thousands of playlists, or add songs to your own playlist.

Re: Amazon memberships
I like Prime. I do use Amazon more than I otherwise would because of the free shipping. And we have 2 Firesticks and find lots of good shows which are included. I have a Kindle and love to read but I really never see free books that appeal to me, maybe I will take another look because I forgot about that.
I also have the music app on my phone and really love it. Lots of choices. Prime is definitely worth it for us.
