Moving, is this a good quote?
$2200 to move from a two story three bedroom home with a basement to a new two story home 3 miles away?
Includes wardrobe boxes and containers for other big lose items.
King size bedroom set
Toddler bed and crib plus two dressers
Twin bed and trundle bed plus two dressers
Treadmill
Display cases
4 TVS
5 piece sectional
Dining room set
And tons of boxes
It's the first quote I got not sure the going rate.

you won't really know until you get a couple of quotes. Price around and get recommendations. We moved ourselves. Friends of ours just moved and were very happy with their movers. No damage and priced right (he researched the shit out of companies and pricing before hiring them) I just text them. When they reply I'll update

My first reaction is that is a bit high. We moved in 2014 from a four bedroom ranch to a two story four bedroom house about five miles away, and I want to say we paid around $1200/1300. You've got to get multiple quotes and see.

When we moved prices averaged $1,000 per room. We only moved about 3 miles away as well. So I would say this is a very good quote.

Moving, is this a good quote?
That seems high to me. We got a flat rate when we moved, so the movers had no reason to purposefully move slowly as they often do when it's an hourly rate.
