going to the movies alone
I go often while my kids are at school. It's great, you aren't socializing at the movies anyway, so it's not a big deal to me.

yes i have a few times when DD was in school and DH was at work. It was nice and relaxing.

I feel like during the day I'd be ok with it but would feel weird being alone on a Saturday or Friday night when it's like date night and it's crowded too.... but I'm weird. LOL
I also think I'd be better with it now that you can buy you tickets online and you don't have to go up to the ticket counter and say- "one for Manchester by the Sea please" That always made me feel so sad.
LOL

Because of this post, I'm going to see La La Land by myself next week when DD is in school. DH doesn't want to see it, so I'll make it a nice, little afternoon for myself

I've never been to the movies alone, but I only go to the movies once or twice a year at most. I'm not a movie person. DH loves movies, so he takes any opportunity to go with me.
That being said, I go out to eat alone a lot and I've travelled to foreign countries alone.

I did it once when there was a movie I wanted to see while DH was away for a trip for work several years back. That was the only time. Actually I haven't been to the movies at all since!

I don't like going to the movies in general so I never have, but if I did like movies I don't think I would have a problem. Like others have said, it isn't like you are socializing anyway.
