can a 2 yrs old eat popcorn?
Yes. Dd has been eating it and hotdogs since she was 1. I didn't even realize it was a choking hazard till my pediatrician told me about it. But we were also the people who gave our kid peanut butter and eggs before she was 1 and didn't realize that was a no no either. So I don't get the parent of the year award.

My DD is 9 months and we have the go ahead to try eggs and PB.... so I don't think it's a no no

thank you everyone, such wide range of opinions. I asked because I had to buy a grab bag gift and I saw this cute pop corn set with flavored toppings. No one my team has kids but my director. I thought if she ends up with my gift, will she be able to enjoy it with her 2 yr old son. I"m prob was over thinking it.

Absolutely not. Also be careful with cheese cubes, large clumps of peanut butter, and marshmallows.

Its not allowed in daycares for children under 5. Its one of the leading choking hazards. I always remember that story where a child choked at the movies and the mother took him into the bathroom to try to get it out and he died. So for that reason I've never given it to my girls.

I never even knew this was a choking hazard. I've only given it to DS a handful of times and I supervise him when he eats, but now I feel like such an idiot. I didn't know popcorn was so dangerous.
