It's a choking hazzard so I would not be giving it at 2 years old. No way.
Even at 6 years old I watch her like a hawk with it.
(But I'm a bit nutty when it comes to choking.)

Yes, same. I heard a horror story of a child here on LI choking to death on it at the movies. I've been afraid of popcorn since. I think Pirates Booty is a similar but safer option.

Yes.
DD def had it before 3... we had lots of movie parties in front of our TV. Never choked.
Grapes & carrots are bad too because of size, but we eat them.
I do know how to do CPR and did it on our youngest when she was really choking. That was on a cheerio.

No. I wasn't comfortable giving popcorn until around 4 years old. Even still, I stay close by to monitor them when they eat it. I agree even we as adults can choke easily on popcorn.

IMO it's not NECESSARY for them to eat it, so why take the risk at a young age.
Popcorn is not a necessary food that it's worth the choking risk.
I am sure the parents of this little girl will regret it forever now. All for what? Popcorn.
There are other things you can eat at the movies. Especially at 2 years old.

I live in Richmond and work at VCU medical center where she was for months before recently passing. It was just awful.
My 2 year old DS will not be having his first taste of popcorn for a LONG, LONG time.

Not sure when DD tried it but it was somewhere between 2 and 3. She loves popcorn.
DD chokes a lot, but has ironically never had a problem with popcorn. She has choked on puffs (the ones that are supposed to dissolve), pears, chicken, hotdogs, and most recently a chip. I have seriously become a master at the back blow.

My DD did at 2 because her brother used to have it but I always watched her like a hawk.
I was at a 1yr old birthday a few weeks ago that had a popcorn machine and all these toddlers not only eating it but walking around eating it. It gave me so much anxiety!

One time when DD was around 2.5 she was eating a Dorrito and started to choke. I remember it so vividly and I still get anxiety over it. DH grabbed her (because I was just frozen in panic) and smacked her on the back and thank God it went down or whatever. I will never forget the look on her face when she was choking. I swear it took years off my life, my heart was racing so fast afterwards and I was just crying and shaking for a long time after.
Ever since then I have become ultra paranoid about her eating anything. And she's 6 now. But I swear that traumatized the shit out of me.

But all the more reason I wouldn't knowingly give it at that age.
