Hey guys anyone have family or friends or 1sr hand experience with living in Houston Texas? We are thinking about making a move and the woodlands Texas (outside of Houston) is a top contender so I'm just looking for any insight from anyone lol

Yes- My cousin moved there 7 or 8 years ago. They live in Kingwood. He and his family love it there and for them it made sense financially. We went and visited them 5 years ago and they live in a really nice, new home that I think they paid 250k for. Both of them are making nice salaries so for them they are really coming out ahead. My other cousin (brother of my cousin that is already in TX) just recently sold their house here on LI and are moving there in January.

I have a friend from college who lives just south of the city. She loves it. Hot but she lived in FL for years so she said it wasn't a hard transition.

The woodlands is a beautiful area. My mom grew up in west university which is another very nice are.
If you're looking for suburbs, Pearland is a nice town.
