 Tuna fish
My understanding is that it's fine to have, but not too often because of mercury.

 Re: Tuna fish
With my first pregnancy, I was told one can a week was fine. With my second, I was told absolutely none and that they recently changed their stance on that because of even more elevated levels of mercury found in tuna now.

 Re: Tuna fish
Once a month or so. That is what I limited it to. Dr told me once a week was ok- I just did once a month though. All was well with DD

 Tuna fish
I haven't had it but just because I'm not in the mood. Anything in moderation is fine. Today I had an entire cold cut sandwich I was craving. My first in 6 months wasn't heated but it was so good lol

 Re: Tuna fish
It's fine but not too often. Maybe half a can, a few times a month.

 Tuna fish
I had it occasionally this pregnancy. I read something that made it sound like tuna is worse than it used to be and really shouldn't be eaten during pregnancy. I think it was from consumer reports. If I can find it, I'll post a link.

What about tuna salad from a deli or diner or whatever? Is that safe? I want a tuna melt for dinner...

My doctor said the same thing yesterday- guildlines have changed and he recommends avoiding tuna.

What's the difference? still tuna. And the risk of listeria from a deli tuna would be also be present, unless it's steaming hot.

The risk is from.the mercury in the fish. It doesn't matter where you get it. I ate it once a month in moderation

Yeah, I know the issue with tuna on its own is mercury. I was just wondering since if tuna is ok in moderation if tuna salad had its own issues.

Tuna salad was the only tuna I ate. It's fine as long as you dont' eat it too much due to mercury.
