What's your favorite holiday, food-wise?

How about the food aspect of the holidays? Again, not the holiday itself, just the food during the holiday, even if you don't have the "traditional" food for that day.

What's your favorite holiday, food-wise?

Christmas.
It's the only time of the year that I bake a lot of different cookies.

I actually really like New Year's Eve. DW has a constant flow of finger food. Shrimp cocktail, pizza tots, crackers and cheese, wine, etc. It's nothing fancy, but it's definitely something all of us look forward to.

Romantic Dinner and Chocolates!
Though we don't go out on V-day.
But I'll take that over the others because I'm a foodie and a chocoholic

We do the same meal for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Christmas Eve is a huge buffet of food we all bring so that ranks up there as well.

It's a toss up between Christmas and Thanksgiving, but usually (in our house) they're very similar. We do a full turkey with all the sides for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. A few years my mom did a ham and lasagna for christmas and those years I much preferred Thanksgiving.

But I love the eggnog and all the cookies at Christmas too.

Thanksgiving!!!

christmas is always traditional ethnic foods, so i always know what to expect.

thanksgiving is "american" so our family doesn't have traditional foods, aside from what we've adopted... so this gives us permission to try different things and explore and experiment.

i didn't have cranberry sauce until i was an adult and my son brought home a recipe from school lol

Such a toss up. Chat Icon I really love the scrumptious Thanksgiving feast but I also enjoy all of the Xmas goodies and recipes too. I'd say it's a tie. Chat Icon

I do this too, my mom always did the same thing for us when we were kids. We'd stay in on NYE and eat all kinds of goodies all night long while playing board games. It was awesome!! So I am carrying on that tradition with my kids. Chat Icon

It's funny because I do enjoy Thanksgiving food too- but ONLY on Thanksgiving.
Like I would never think to make a turkey, stuffing, etc any other day. No desire for it.

But on Thanksgiving it's soooo yummy. And decadent.

I know. It's weird.
I mean if someone put it in front of me tonight, I wouldn't be kicking it off the table or anything, and I'm sure I'd shovel in my pie hole like there was no tomorrow. Chat Icon
But I just never crave it enough to make it other than on Thanksgiving if that makes sense.

Thanksgiving.

We don't eat meat, but all the sides are vegetarian (I bring some and my aunt and uncle host - they make sure that there is always veg-friendly stuffing and mushroom gravy for us!)

Runner up would be Eid - so much delicious Bangladeshi food! Pakora, chapati, dhal, pulau, fried eggplant, jelapi, samosas...mmmm!
