Creepy or just the world we live in now?
Today I went to the dr with DH. It's a big practice with a large waiting room. DH and I sat against the wall and a woman and her daughter, who I'd say was late teens/early 20s sat a row over, backs to us. I could not help but notice that the daughter was taking photos of the man sitting across from her and typing text onto the photos. I didn't say anything but it bugged me. Is this what the world has come to?
And of course I realize I shouldn't have been nosy but it was hard to miss as she had a big phone and was sitting right in front of me.

Creepy or just the world we live in now?
it could have been someone they knew? I looked at an apt today and the agent said he was at a wedding and lady he didnt know asked if she can take his pic. he was not sure if she was hitting on him but he thought it was odd, as do I. Did the guy know she was taking pics?

No, there was no interaction and they never spoke. He was a little quirky looking.

very odd and I think its the world er live in. if I saw someone taking my pic I would be upset, he has not idea, who knows where she is posting it or what she wrote about him, SAD

someone snapped a pic of my boots once on the subway. they weren't even cute, they were just warm. i was annoyed. they did it openly.

I hate it. I used to see it on the PATH a lot. Mostly younger people taking pictures of people falling asleep or people they think are funny looking.

it's very mean, I don't understand why the mother didn't correct her and told her to stop. This is seriously what's wrong with our society. Hopefully she didn't post it on social media.

I hate when people do this! It seriously bothers me so much. My friend's co-worker does this and posts the pics on instagram. It makes my blood boil.

I once was on the subway and when I got off some guy who also got off the train told me that the guy sitting across from my was taking pics of me. At that point, what was I supposed to do? I was off the train already! If he was so concerned he should have said something while we were still on the train!

One of my coworkers does this.
She is like a "cause head" from the movie PCU, yet she takes photos of strangers to shame them online for their looks, clothing, hair, etc. She leaves their faces there too - doesn't blur them out. Meanwhile she looks like Marjorie the Trash Heap from Fraggle Rock and kind of smells like her too.

Having a teen, it sounds like she was sending a Snapchat. These kids send random photos to each other and type on them. They guy was probably wearing something she thought was funny or she thought was weird or something. Not right, but harmless I think. When you send a Snapchat its only visible for a few seconds and then it disappears and is no longer available.

Similar story - that Playboy model that posted a naked photo of a woman changing in a gym locker room - captioned "If I can't unsee this, then neither can you." It's disturbing that she thought nothing of posting a naked photo of someone (turns out it was a 70+ year old woman). I'm *so* glad she's getting in legal trouble for it, but it's definitely a disturbing trend to make fun of others.

I was just going to post this. It appears that people like the attention they get from shaming others. It's creepy and the world we live in. Sad state of affairs.

Creepy always, and probably even really mean (not knowing for sure what she was typing), but would be even more bothered by this because it occurred in a doctor's office - there is an expectation of privacy in a doctor's office and because of the location, I would have said something to the office staff.

Exactly!! Her mother should have put a stop to that. It's rude and disrespectful. We have no common courtesy anymore.

Admittedly I distinctly remember doing this once before...but it wasn't meant In a mean way. I was texting with a friend about boots I wanted and a women getting her hair done across from me was wearing them, so I sent a picture. Looking back, it was probably rude, but ultimately harmless.

I thought about it, but I didn't want to make a scene as both people were sitting near the reception desk.
But I am going to email the office administration and let them know what I saw. Maybe they will post something in the offices.

I'd say it is mean. She was probably taking pics and posting them with mocking captions. I guess her mother never taught her manners if she was sitting right next to her!
