Ipod for 8 year old?
Is it worth it to get an ipod for an 8 year old? DD is to young for a phone but she is looking for something to listen to music and play games, videos on?
She has my sisters old ipod nano.
What does your 8 year old have? I really don't want to add an ipad to my cell phone.

My son and my bf's son got them for Christmas in 2014, so they were 7 and 8. They love them, probably the best gifts we have ever gotten them
They watch YouTube, play games and can facetime us when they are with their other parents.

Ipod for 8 year old?
DC (6 & 9) both have ipads, but they are not connected to our cell plans. They use them over wifi, and if we're somewhere, where this is no wifi...too bad :)

Same here
My 7 year olds and 9 year olds all have my old phones, no cell service only Wi-Fi. They're very content with them.

Ipod for 8 year old?
My DD got an iPod when she was 5. She now has an iPad, as does my 6 year old. They don't have data, wifi only.
ETA: Yes, I think it was worth it.

Same here

My 7 yo has an ipod touch and loves it. I think its a great in-between before getting a cell phone. She only connects to wifi. She uses is mostly for watching youtube, and some apps and games, musically etc.
We had bought one for my 5yo who then lost it. She now uses an old iphone-pretty much same thing. I would just consider responsibility of child you're getting for and stay on top of them so doesn't get lost.

Ipod for 8 year old?
we have iPads now (7 & 9) they had their iTouch's at age 2 and at about 4 we upgraded them to the iPad and now they have the iPad minis. both are wifi only.

This might be a stupid question can you connect ipods to your cell service or only ipads.
