No matter who it is, it's a sad diagnosis.
Charlie Sheen has clearly had many issues over the years.
I hope that maybe this will cause a turnaround in his behavior and erratic lifestyle so he can have a good relationship with his children for many years to come.
Edit - I also think the whole vibe about this...the whole "I knew it!!!" kind of posts I'm seeing online...are really gross. Its not a contest. Enough with the schadenfreude.

I have zero sympathy especially if he knew and didn't tell anyone and infected others. If that's the case. Which it sounds like it was. That he's known for awhile and still slept with people.

I just read that he spent over $53k on prostitutes in the early 90s over a 15 month period. I wonder how long he had this and didn't know. It's such a sad situation. I read that Denise and her kids are negative. Hope his other wife and kids are negative also. It's sad really, you just never know. This isn't something they do routine testing for. Thankfully now you can live a long healthy life with HIV hopefully does just that and gets his crazy behavior under control...

Its unforgivable that he didn't reveal to his partners, but it is not the business of the entire world.
This makes me feel sick, the glee that people are showing, the vulture like interest in this whole thing.

He said on the Today show that he was diagnosed 4 years ago. Which is right around the time he was booted from Two and A half Men and was really in a spiral.

He actually looked the best he has been since he went on the whole winning tirade....
But my husband and I both rolled our eyes when he said that the women he has been paying off to silence them were taking money from his kids and his grandchild made me sick....
It was of course fine to spend your millions on hookers and drugs...
Sorry Charlie... No sympathy here.

During the interview he said that he did tell every single partner. (But who knows if that is true) And that some of them blackmailed him to keep his secret (not exactly that he paid them off to keep them quiet)

I think he came across well on the Today show, especially considering some of the craziness over the past few years. I feel bad for him, obviously with his lifestyle you almost had to expect something like this would happen, BUT it's still sad.
Whether he's being 100% honest about all of the details, we'll never know. I did find it a little hard to believe that even with all of the drug abuse and drinking that he NEVER, EVER missed even one dose of his HIV meds. That seems a little improbable.
In any case, I hope for the sake of others he's being truthful about when he says he told them about his diagnosis and always used protection. I'm sure there are going to be MANY people who now come out and say he's lying and have their own tale to spin so nobody will ever really know what to believe. Hopefully for him he's able to lead a relatively healthy and better life despite being HIV +.

Depends on the state. In CA you have to have sex with someone with the intent to infect them.
Knowing you have HIV and not telling and not using protection is not the same as having the intent to infect.
I think NY is similar but I looked up the CA law last night because I questioned the same thing
