Rebecca Kammerer - anyone have any experience with this sleep coach?

Hey there
Our DD is 18 weeks and DH and I are in the midst of dealing with 4 month sleep regression mixed with the fallout of multiple sleep crutches that we have created. I was thinking of paying the $300 for Rebecca Kammerers help, since we literally live down the road and she's based out of our peds office in Mineola. Anyone use her services? Its not sleep "training" per se, since shes not 6 months old yet - more positive sleep shaping.

We used her and she was worth every penny! Within about a week and a half, she helped us get our super stubborn DS sleeping through the night in his crib (where he was previously cosleeping and up every hour. I swear she saved my life and my marriage, lol!

Thats awesome - thank you so much. My DH is somewhat of the mindset that we should try a few things on our own first before hiring a professional, but I think if we can get on the right path sooner rather than by trial and error, why not? Right?

What she does differs depending on the age of the baby/child, but for infants up to 6 months old she does what she calls "sleep shaping." None of it involves CIO. I think I just want some personal, one-on-one sleep guidance from an actual person - not just a book or website.
Our 4 month old has a handful of sleep crutches that I would like to slowly remove but we have no idea when, how, or in what order to start changing things. For instance, our LO cant be put down "drowsy but awake" yet - has to be down for the count. She's also still swaddled, which may be fine since she can't roll over yet, but I would like some help deciding when to transition out. We also have her sleeping in an infant nest in between DH and I in our bed - her mini crib (in our room) hasn't been touched since she was 8 weeks old. It has def saved our sanity for a while, but shes growing out of it and want her back in her crib. Lastly, she seems to have the uncanny ability to know when I have left the bedroom and promptly wakes up. So, her bedtime is now my bedtime if I want her to stay sleep. I don't want to go the bed at 8pm all the damn time!

Anywhooo...the $300 fee includes a 1 hour telephone consultation where she discusses your issues and what her plan is. Then, a series of 20 min phone conversations throughout the week to guage successes/struggles and answer questions or make changes. There is also access to some "members only" info on the website, etc... She has some other more inclusive packages for older babies/kids, that include home visits that are more expensive.

Re: Rebecca Kammerer - anyone have any experience with this sleep coach?

Has anyone used her for help with a 2 year old?

My son needs either my husband or I to lay with him in his bed until he falls alseep - which could take an hour sometimes! If we leave, he will cry, come out of the bed, just hysterics.

He will finally fall asleep and stay asleep for about 4 hours or so, but always comes into our bed in the middle of the night....just moseys in, lays down between us and goes back to sleep.

I dont entirely mind that he comes into the bed in the middle of the night - we all sleep fine together. I more so would like him to know how to go to sleep on his own at bed time. I know his issues are my own fault - I always rocked him when he was a baby, coddled him. He doesnt know how to self soothe and put himself to sleep.

Im sure there is a way to help - I just dont know where to start and I just cannot let him CIO.

She's terrific! We had a great experience with her. She coached us through getting my then 18 month old to stop waking 4-5 times a night and to sleep thru the night in his crib. CIO was deadly for us and created a highly anxious child.

For us she did an in depth phone consult and then began coaching. We touched base each morning. She listened to how it went and then coached/tweaked if needed. We used sleep lady shuffle. We did have a pretty solid bedtime routine but she tweaked it slightly. Those slight tweaks were magic. To this day we still use them. Took about a month to get through.

She is worth every penny.
