Re: Eisenberg Pediatrics ?

I saw Dr Hinestroza yesterday and I'm very impressed. I was never a fan of Dr. E. I liked Patel and when she left I said I was going to find a new Ped and I never did. Now I don't have to. He was incredibly nice, and apologized several times for the wait (little did he know there was usually a wait with Dr. E). He said at his old practice he was not used to running behind, and that once he learned the ropes at this new office, he'd be sure to run on time. He was very personable, almost fell over (in a good way) to learn I was still BFing my 16 month old. No pressure to wean. (Unlike many of my experiences with Dr. E.)

Needless to say, it was an awesome surprise to my day yesterday. I hope he stays awhile. :)

I also heard they are hiring another Dr in Sept. And Nicole's sister is joining the practice. I'm not sure if she is an RN or a PA but either way she worked at Good Sam and was on my son's service when he was there for surgery and she was great!

That's great!! It looks like things are looking up for this practice which I felt was on its way out for awhile now.

I'm so on the fence about this. I keep hearing how great the new doctor is and would love to meet with him. But I was already thinking of switching, I had a problem with their on-call after hours services and I wasn't really a fan of Nicole. The new doctor seems to be really in line with what we are looking for...but its the rest of the practice that I don't like.

This is very upsetting. My husband just took my son to the doctor this week for his annual physical. They didn't say anything! That is very sneaky in my opinion. He didn't see Nicole, he saw another woman (my husband couldn't remember her name but she was a new person to my husband, not sure how long she has been there) but no one said anything about it. We really like Nicole, but we went to that practice for Dr. Eisenberg, he was our pediatrician. At the very least, something should have been said when they were there. I can't believe they haven't said anything or sent a letter out! To be closed on Fridays and Saturdays is ridiculous too. I certainly hope Dr. Eisenberg is OK, this is no way to run a practice.

Eisenberg Pediatrics ?

Dear parents and patients,

As most of you know, in 2014 my practice, Eisenberg Pediatrics partnered with Stony Brook Community Medical, an entity associated with Stony Brook University Medical Center. In June of this year Stony Brook and I made a mutual decision to go our separate ways. Stony Brook Community Medical will continue to operate in my office, however, changing its name to Stony Brook Pediatrics of Sayville. The nursing and reception staff will remain, as will the office location and phone numbers where you may call to obtain further information.

F or a variety of reasons, I am unable to continue in practice at Eisenberg Pediatrics as I had prior to the partnership with Stony Brook.

This situation saddens me greatly. I will deeply miss caring for my patients, many whom have been with me as far back as 1998 when I graduated from residency and began practicing in the Sayville area.

I appreciate the trust and loyalty so many of you have demonstrated by allowing me to care for your children over the years. Thank you so much for that opportunity, one that I will always cherish.

I wish all of you the best.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Eisenberg
