Car seat- One in each car? Or just for you?
I have a few months before I will register but I have been wondering what is standard with most folks. Do you have one car seat that you keep in your car and move it when you decide to take another car or does DH have a carseat in his car? What about grandparents? Anyone's parents get a car seat?
I am not thinking of registering for multiple car seats but just wondering what people have done.

We bought two.. My DH works night and there was no way he was pulling the car seat out of the car at 3am or me pulling it when I go to work at 7am so we bought two...I work P/T.. The Britax is in my SUV and a smaller one for his full size truck.. Plus the Britax wouldn't fit correctly rear facing in his truck..

You need two. It makes life so much easier. Also be sure to register for two bases for the carrier. I had to go out and buy one-I never gave it a thought before.

We have one in each car. I never got one for the grandparents. If they need a car seat they come the night before and put one of the seats in their car. It does not happen often.

This is what we will do too- DH will be home two days a week, so it makes more sense for it to be in his car, but I may need it in mine. But I don't want a car seat in my car. I work in the South Bronx and one of my co-worker's cars was broken into, and her car seat was stolen! DH's parents want to buy the car seat the next time we're in town, so I've had to think about it already too.

We bought 3... one for my car, one for DH's car and one for my parent's car. We bought a Britax for my car and my parent's and an Evenflo for DH's.

I registered for the travel system for my car, and an extra base for DH's or my mom's car. We also registered for a newborn to toddler carseat.

I registered for the infant seat with an extra base for DH's car, but I also registered for 2 convertible car seats for when she outgrows her infant seat. My DH and I are on totally different schedules and would both need a seat in our car.

We did the same...more for convienence, rather than schedule conflicts.

I don't know why you'd need more than one carseat if you can only have the baby in one place at a time One is working fine for us for now, when she outgrows the infant seat, we may need another because the Britax is so huge.

for the infant car seat I have 2 bases.
but for the britax i registered for the one.
we'll see if that works for the time being- we don't even have a second car yet- but we'll be getting a sedan in November.

See Dh would drop the baby off in the morning and I would pick her up at night. I'm not sure how else to do it without buying 2 seats since we would each have our own car at work. Is there a way I'm not thinking of? Sorry not experienced with this stuff yet
ETA: I don't think DH taking the convertible car seat out in the morning and leaving it at daycare for me at night would be very practical - they seem big and difficult to keep installing in the cars.

having twins, so registered for 2 car seats and 2 extra bases.
For you..I dont think it is necessary to have 2 car seats...just get an extra base

Us too 
DH will be dropping the baby off at day care and I will be picking him/her up.
My parents have a car seat and base from my nephews. If/when my inlaws have the baby, we will just give them one of our car seats.

We regestered for and were given two. The one in my car will be the one that is part of the travel system and the one in DH's is the one that goes up to 40 lbs.
