First period postpartum
DD is 7 weeks, just got my first period on Friday. It is super super ridiculously heavy, to the point where I have already stained my couch and my sheets and mattress. It's awful. I don't remember this with DD1. Is this normal? (sorry for the tmi)

First period postpartum
I had my first period last week (13 months post partum) and it was like a regular period. ( I'm still BFing so I'm not sure if that affects how heavy it is). I have heard from other people that their periods PP are heavier.

If you're soaking through a pad in an hour or less, I'd call the dr.
I either had it heavy (but not like that) with no cramping, or super light with massive cramping.

Re: First period postpartum
It's totally normal to look like a crime scene. It seems like the more DC I have the worst my periods get especially that first one.
Try drinking Red Rasberry Leaf Tea. It helps tone your uterus.

Re: First period postpartum
Ever since having children, my periods have been a lot heavier. The first few PP were horrific as you described.

First period postpartum
I actually had 2 things they tell you to look out for - soaked through one of those hospital pads in 1 hour and passed a clot the size of a golf ball... I happened to have been in the hospital waiting for my grandmother to get out of emergency surgery, so I ran down to the ER. Internal was fine. After the clot passed, the bleeding nearly stopped. Every AF after has been crazy heavy for a day or two with lots of clots. DS is 7 months on Sunday... and I BF/Pump!
