would you travel on a plane with a 12 wk old?

we are just throwing out the ideas of the possibility of going to Disney in September.
It's value season and I will be off from work,

other option is to drive down.
I am thinking it would not be advisable to fly with an infant b.c of the risks of illness etc.

have you done it?

I would fly. My daughter screamed bloody murder every time she was in the car, so id want to minimize car seat time. She was also nursing 24/7 so driving to florida would've taken about 2 weeks lol. If you're nervous ask the pediatrician.

We flew with de when she was 4 months, so slightly older. But at 12 weeks I would. As long as it wasn't flu season or something.

It's tough to tell.

My babies were both very different at 12 weeks. We did mini vacays before I went back to work... But 2 hr drives away. One was fine. The other screamed the ENTIRE time (not just driving: the entire vacation).

I would fly with a 12 week old, I just don't know if I would go to Disney with a 12 week old.

We did it. We stated at our timeshare and only did one day at Disney, but it was fine. He pretty much slept the whole time.

yeah, if we go, we are going to do a very laid back Disney. I get free admission to the parks, so if I need to leave, I can certainly do so without feeling like I am throwing away money.

I traveled by air to Europe with a 6 week old and a 10 week old with no issues. Both in the summer months

I personally would not if it were me. 12 weeks old is too young to be exposed to so many germs

I did. I went down to Florida when my son was 12 weeks to visit my grandparents with him

I wouldnt .... We are driving to Atlanta when our daughter is 12 weeks. Long story short, my son contracted rsv on a flight to Palm Beach and the hospital stressed how important it was that he was over 27 pounds at the time. Had he been younger, lord knows how we could have handled the situation.

I would avoid disney at 3 months.... no flu shot and lots of international visitors germs flying around

I have in the past. When my oldest was 7 weeks we went to Cancun. It was booked before I became pregnant.

Yes, for me that was the easiest age.

That is an easy age! We traveled when DD was 5 and 6 months via plane, she slept a lot! They are so easy at that age. As long as she/he has their shots and ped says its ok. It won't quite be flu season yet either.

I would not but I have major anxiety and would be stressing the whole time if he was crying alot

My DS was around that age when we went to disney. I also did a road trip to Tennessee when he was about a month old. Plane was much much easier. He did cry during take off, but after that, he was pretty quiet. The flight was mostly families anyway so it was fine.

Considering my 12 week old screamed bloody murder practically all day I would say no. My nerves would be frayed on a plane like that.

I think it depends on the baby. My oldest was a really difficult baby so with him I would have said no. My younger DS was super easy so I would have taken him. My twins are 10 weeks...one is easy one is difficult. So I think it really goes by the kid. We are planning on flying to Punta Cana in October with a 4.5 yr old, a 2.5 yr old, and two 7 month olds. I promise to tell you all which flight we are on so you can make sure you are not on it.
