Another Duggar on the Way
There is a lot of judgment going on in this threat, that is what is sad around here. A beautiful baby is going to be born to two parents that WANT it and who will love it. Shouldn't we be focusing on that. I bet that if I looked at the way half the people on LIF lived I wouldn't necessarily agree with it ,but the judgment and comparing them to the Nazi's is outrageous behavior.

FTR I did not link them to the Nazi party - I used an extreme group who used hate as a motivator to justify their beliefs and enforce them, and If it was discovered that they gave monetary support to a group like them it wouldn't be tolerated, but because they give support to anti gay programs, it's totally cool.

Many people in America are traditionalist and follow strict religious rules, which they impose on their children. I didn't see anything forced with their relationship, if anything I saw it as her growing up. Getting married that young and having a baby is definitely not the norm around here, but it is elsewhere. Say what you want, but they seem to really love their each other and the Duggars truly do love their children. One day one of them will break the tradition, then we can judge their reaction to that. Hopefully the love for their child will overcome whatever viewpoints they have on homosexuality etc.

They don't allow them to have a real relationship with their future spouses. Then they get married and pregnant the next day. There is more to marriage then just having sex and babies. They are taught just to be fruitful and plenty. How about teach them that the money train will eventually end and the money will run out. There has never been any mention of one of the girls leaving the home and not being married. That will never happen as long as the parents are alive.

Just keep your hate speech under lock and key. And maybe give those babies a chance to be better people by not being judgmental discriminating bigots.

What I never understood and maybe this is why I'm not a religious person but... Isn't it taught that Jesus loves everyone and wants everyone to love one another like him? Or, is his love conditional and open to interpretation based on convenience? I'm not being an asshole, this is what I've always questioned... not that anyone will ever have the answer, I just can't logically wrap my head around this "loophole" for lack of a better word.

IMHO Hate is fear based... What are people afraid of? Who people want to spend the rest of their lives with have NO bearing on their day to day. Assholes like the Kardashians , the Madonnas, etc have more power to corrupt society than a same sex couple or 50 years ago a interracial couple. How silly is it now that two people of different races couldn't legally be married? It's bullshitt!
I mean can you honestly tell me you wouldn't be beyond hurt and pissed off if you were told you couldn't marry your SO that you loved with all of your heart and wanted to die with because let say for example he/she has hair on their big toe...? it's the same thing IMO

I think if they just left that cult, they would think differently. Michele didn't come from that type of life and she was a "normal" kid. She needs to step back and see what she is doing to those kids. The youngest ones just look so sad too, especially Jennifer. It is sad. They are selfish and have kids for their own addiction and the youngest ones are not being raised properly. They are thrown to the older girls to raise while she does, god who knows all day long.

Always thought Josiah definitely, and maybe Jinger, but now that she is older, Joy Anna. Jinger seems more like she just couldn't deal with boy BS- especially the type of men their family would approve of who would want them home raising babies. I think that is Jana's deal too.
I can't believe Josiah is courting. He's only 18! That's fine if they were dating normally, but they only court with the intention of marrying--so he needs to prove he can raise a family, b/c they will most likely have one as soon as they are married. the GF is only 17!

I think Jana is too timid to say anything. She seems lately to be coming out of her shell but she is 25 years old. I don't think she wants to spend the next 13 years raising her parents kids. I would hope not.
I feel bad for Josiah as you KNOW this was not his choice. I am sure Madeline is a nice girl but he doesn't seem like he goes that way and he is young, JUST because their intentions of courting IS to marry, not just date.

Yes basically. I actually enjoy reading the sites about them as they are hilarious. My kids enjoy the show so I do see it with them and you can't avoid all the rag mags now in the stores.

Yep, Joy Anna is one of the other ones I suspect as well.
I also know a ton about this family because it's just all so crazy...and fascinating and at times infuriating. I don't know how anyone who truly researches the facts, not rumors, on them and watches every show since the beginning, could be anything but heartbroken for the kids. Psychology and financially they are not free. They don't have the free will to do anything. Poor Jinger is a photographer and can't even get an IG until she's engaged. Josiah just got one. IG is the least of their problems but I'm saying even something as small as that they can't have. These girls are their fathers then their husbands...never their own selfs. Super sad. :(

A few thoughts based on the comments I've read here...
I don't know maybe I'm the odd one, but I think it's actually pretty irresponsible and downright awful to have 20 kids and throw them on your older girls and expect them to be the ones to raise them. I think if you want 20 kids, well good for you. But, don't restrict your children's lives and futures like that. They didn't ask for the life that you imposed on them. I'm not talking about occasionally having your older children watch or babysit the younger ones. I'm talking flat out raising them, which is what the older Duggar girls are doing. The younger Duggars look for their sister caretakers when they're sick, had a nightmare, need a hug or to be taken care of, not their parents. This is not normal.
Not agreeing with something (homosexuality, abortion, etc.) is not the same as outright proposing and supporting legislation to have the things you don't agree with removed and denying other people their BASIC CIVIL RIGHTS. The Duggars don't have to agree with homosexuality. But that doesn't give them (or anyone) the right to take away someone's basic rights and dignity based on their sexual orientation. It's absolutely 100% imposing your beliefs on others. How is that justifiable?
So many people say "well, at least they're not mooching off the government"... but IF it's true that they evade taxes and use loopholes, religious or otherwise, to skate by on paying their taxes then they are no better than those that mooch off the government and they are actually exactly the same kind of low-life as those that do. Who is picking up their tax slack?
I don't think anyone is saying it's a bad thing that they're 19 and having a baby. I personally don't care that they are. It doesn't sway me either way because it's their life to do with as they please. Not sure why so many people who had children and/or married young are internalizing the comments on this thread and feeling like it's a personal attack against their lifestyle. I'm going to assume those posters who married young or had children young did so under completely different circumstances than these people who are basically doing it because that's all they know and are taught from a young age.
I do have an honest question though for those posters that did marry young or had kids at a young age (I'm talking young enough that it may impact college and career choices.. so under 21)... do you want the same for your child? Do you want (or would you be okay with) your child forgoing their education and career choices and getting married and having kids that young as well? I'm genuinely curious. To answer my own question... I didn't marry or have kids at that age, but I know that I personally wouldn't be okay with it for my children (of course, I know they'd technically be an adult at that point if this happened when they were 18 and could do as they please, but I wouldn't be happy with it.)

Not agreeing with something (homosexuality, abortion, etc.) is not the same as outright proposing and supporting legislation to have the things you don't agree with removed and denying other people their BASIC CIVIL RIGHTS. The Duggars don't have to agree with homosexuality. But that doesn't give them (or anyone) the right to take away someone's basic rights and dignity based on their sexual orientation. It's absolutely 100% imposing your beliefs on others. How is that justifiable?
So many people say "well, at least they're not mooching off the government"... but IF it's true that they evade taxes and use loopholes, religious or otherwise, to skate by on paying their taxes then they are no better than those that mooch off the government and they are actually exactly the same kind of low-life as those that do. Who is picking up their tax slack?
I don't think anyone is saying it's a bad thing that they're 19 and having a baby. I personally don't care that they are. It doesn't sway me either way because it's their life to do with as they please. Not sure why so many people who had children and/or married young are internalizing the comments on this thread and feeling like it's a personal attack against their lifestyle. I'm going to assume those posters who married young or had children young did so under completely different circumstances than these people who are basically doing it because that's all they know and are taught from a young age.
I do have an honest question though for those posters that did marry young or had kids at a young age (I'm talking young enough that it may impact college and career choices.. so under 21)... do you want the same for your child? Do you want (or would you be okay with) your child forgoing their education and career choices and getting married and having kids that young as well? I'm genuinely curious. To answer my own question... I didn't marry or have kids at that age, but I know that I personally wouldn't be okay with it for my children (of course, I know they'd technically be an adult at that point if this happened when they were 18 and could do as they please, but I wouldn't be happy with it.)
I got married young, 21 but didn't have children for 5 years, planned. I tell my kids to go and get a college degree, job and home and THEN get married. Would I do it all over again, absolutely BUT it was a different time. We also enjoyed our marriage before having kids. These kids have NO choice. They are not allowed to use birth control and are like rabbits as they are not even allowed to front hug until they are married. All of this is abuse.

Jim Bob's. I follow her on IG. From what it looks like on there, she has a life and a boyfriend who she hugs and kisses (among other things?).

That is Jim's sister's daughter. She is Grandma Duggar's favorite as she was the first grandchild.
She is "normal" as well as her mother and father. The parents, if I recall just recently got married after so many years together.
She tells JB where to go with things like courting lol.
