I don't get the argument that she's dressed fine because most other 16 or 17 year olds wear less and dress like hoochieskanks too. If she were your 17 year old daughter you'd be ok with her leaving the house dressed like this (and posting other trashy photos of herself on social media) because her peers are dressing equally as trashy (and posting equally trashy photos)? I laugh because I'm reminded of parents telling their kids "well, if your friends jumped off a bridge would you do that too?"... Kids do all sorts of stupid shit in high school. Would you be ok with your kid doing the same just because their friends are doing it too? Strangest argument I've ever heard. It's like saying "well, everyone I know is a hooker, so I decided to be a hooker too".

Why do we have to see ANY 15, 16, 17, (whatever teen) year old's ass anyway? What makes that appropriate or right?? Where are their parents that are buying them and/or allowing them to wear these hooker clothes? I wish they'd have raised their daughters to have some self respect but at 17 it's probably a lost cause. Just be sure to buy her a rape whistle before she goes off to college and pat yourself on the back on your good parenting skills and go back to watching reality tv.

I don't know, I just find it funny because the other day someone posted about their teenager getting a nose piercing and most people responded with "I won't allow that"... yet, on this thread so many people seem to be passive about something far worse than a teen's piercing.

I couldn't agree more! It's this attitude of, "well all teenage girls dress like wh0res so what can you do? " that leads to a society of all teenage girls dressing like wh0res. Therein lies the problem.

She looks good. No need for the slut shaming, IMO.

In this case she's shaming herself by her own behavior.

But how? I'm really trying to understand this. She has short sleeves, There is no low cut dress. The length may be a tad short, but that is all I have.

I have a beautiful pic of my aunt where she has less clothing, but looks absolutely beautiful. It's from the 50s.

She'll be 18 in a few months. How is she shaming herself? She feels comfortable in this dress (I'm not going to talk about the bikini pic b/c it is not on topic).

I dont think the dress combo or shoe combo is something I would allow my daughter to wear at 17. I dont care what other parents feel is ok for their kids. My girls wont be wearing it.

And to be fair my comment was more of a cumulative of what I've seen her wear not just one outfit.

And there's no slut shaming- I dont think the family knows the meaning of shame....

A rape whistle? I'm sorry but rape has NOTHING to do with the way a woman dresses.

If, God forbid, you had a friend or family member who was raped, I would hope you wouldn't think this happened bc of the way she was dressed.

As for the previous comment about the plastic surgery that she has gotten, I agree.

I don't equate rape with the way a woman dresses. It's wrong any way you slice it. But I'm also not naive enough to think that a 17 year old girl half dressed like a hooch hanging out with a bunch of guys isn't going to be attracting the wrong kind of attention from creepers or giving those guys the wrong idea. What do you honestly think happens to these girls dressing like this when they go off to a college party? Bottom line is young girls carrying on like this are sending guys the wrong message.

As women we should know better. Calling her (or any woman or teen) a 'hooch' is slut shaming. We shouldn't be teaching that to young women. She is 17, almost 18, but she still has sexuality. A woman should not be called that because of her choices in dress. She is free to choose what she wears, and we shouldn't be taking away that choice from her. This isn't the 1950s anymore.

And no, the bottom line is not about sending the wrong message. The bottom line is how that message is received. Parents need to teach their sons that if a woman is dressed a certain way that she is doing it for herself, she can make her own choices, etc.

I know you said that you don't equate rape with the way a woman is dressed, but you kind of contradict yourself with the last line. It's blaming the victim. Slut shaming is part of rape culture. It needs to stop. Men do it, and, sadly, women do it, too.

No one called her any of those things. People said Her outfit is too mature and slutty/trashy. Are we reading the same thread? And I'm sorry those shoes are trashy, looks like what a hooker would wear back in the day.

The mentality that other children do it so it's ok to let my kids do it, is the problem with society today. Everyone has a cell phone at 9 so my kid should have one, or girls are wearing makeup at 10 so my kid should do it so they don't feel left out. Ridiculous!

"Slut shaming" is a legitimate concept now?? I learned of "fat shaming" and "skinny shaming" on another thread. But "slut shaming"?

I think the proper term here is "societal mores." In our society, it is generally considered inappropriate for a 17 year old girl to walk around in completety slutty clothes, take practically nude pictures of herself in a skimpy bikini and post online, and date a mid-20's man with a child. It's culturally not generally accepted, and the latter is illegal I would think, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume she is having sex with him.

Everything is not just ok. Would you call it "slut shaming" if she was dating a 50 year old man too? I'm dumbfounded at this line of reasoning.

What "Societal Mores", according to this thread it is totally normal and acceptable for 17yrs olds to walk around like this!

I still stand by the fact that no one called this girl a slut, so if indeed "slut shaming" is a thing, it didn't occurr on this thread.

As in sleeping with every guy she met, giving BJ's in parking lots, etc.
Are we allowed to call a spade a spade or a slut a slut?
Or is that considered slut shaming???
If you really ARE a slut, is it slut shaming?

It's semantics, really, and I see what you are saying about directly calling her a slut. However, I did see 'dress/ACT like a hooch' and 'soon her sex tape will be out' to be judging her based on what she is wearing in the OP.

It's a derogatory word. Why can't a woman sleep with every guy she likes? If she likes sex, why not? If she is being responsible about it, why not?

Slut-shaming is a term new to me, too. There are a lot of articles about it.

I guess I'm just sick of women being against each other all the time.

I don't think she looks like a " slut", but I do think she looks trashy and inelegant in this photo. I have zero problem with a women looking sexy and showing skin but I believe it can be done with taste and class. She has neither. This isn't just because she is 17. I would not find this a particularly attractive look on an older female either.

I think if most people saw this girl on the street, had no idea who she was and didn't know how old she was, they would have no problem with the outfit. They might not like it, but I don't think it's whore-ish and I am fairly straight-laced. I think because of who she is, and the suspicion of plastic surgery and her age, judgments are flying left and right.

I do think she's young for this look and it makes her look much older, but what she wears is not bringing her all the negative attention and drama. The lack of parental guidance and positive role models in her life and doing her much more of a disservice, IMO.

Right?? ITA with you!! I'm actually so tired of these new "PC" catch phrases in general. Slut shaming, skinny shaming, fat shaming??!! It's so stupid. I swear, the ONLY place I even hear these corny, "PC" terms is on LIF.

Also, to use the term "slut shaming" implies she actually is a slut and we shouldn't make fun of her for it which is pretty much the most moronic thing I've ever heard. Not that Kylie is one but now we defend sluts and whores???!! Oh my.

This thread is ridiculous, how anyone can think this is an appropriate outfit for a 17 year old girl and that it doesn't attract the wrong kind of attention is beyond me.

The word is derogatory, so I won't use it in the future. So no, I wouldn't say that.

What I would say is that she is selfish and a poor decision maker. I would say the same for the man, too. The blame is more on him, IMO.

It's sad her "mother" only sees her as collateral for her empire, and not her actual flesh & blood. Why WHY would you let your baby, your youngest child get all of this work done to her face/boobs/butt, take photos like this, date a 25 year old man with a 2 year old child, fly from country to country to have sex where 17 is legal for consensual sex and oh I dunno not statutory rape like it is in the US.....

When is this family's feet going to be held to the fire for all of these poor decisions they continue to publicly make?!? If one isn't dressing provocatively, the other one is making racially insensitive posts on Instagram, getting married for the money for 72 days, etc.... It's like they are untouchable from any standard of morals or ethics! The kicker is, it's all broadcasted on TV for the millions of people who decide to watch their show(s) & they make hundreds of millions of dollars for this behavior!

Our society is really backwards LOL

As for slut shaming, i've never heard of such a thing! What's next Pedophile shaming?

See for me it's not so much the clothes but all the surgery and enhancements she's done at 17 to look different. Fine I get it, let's be real here: she was the most non exotic looking one out of the girls... But to take it this far is sad, sad she couldn't just be a teenage girl and felt the strong need to be a sexy bombshell at such a young age. She has her whole life to look like this.

And don't even get me started on her dating a 25 year old man which I think is illegal, no?

. If she is having sex with him then yes. The age of consent in California is 18.

As in sleeping with every guy she met, giving BJ's in parking lots, etc.
Are we allowed to call a spade a spade or a slut a slut?
Or is that considered slut shaming???
If you really ARE a slut, is it slut shaming?

It's a derogatory word. Why can't a woman sleep with every guy she likes? If she likes sex, why not? If she is being responsible about it, why not?

Slut-shaming is a term new to me, too. There are a lot of articles about it.

I guess I'm just sick of women being against each other all the time.

What about a woman who knowing sleeps with married men? Other women's husbands. Is she a slut?

The word is derogatory, so I won't use it in the future. So no, I wouldn't say that.

What I would say is that she is selfish and a poor decision maker. I would say the same for the man, too. The blame is more on him, IMO.

Gotcha.
See I would call both the man and the woman a slut.
I don't discriminate!
I am an equal opportunity slut shamer!

It's semantics, really, and I see what you are saying about directly calling her a slut. However, I did see 'dress/ACT like a hooch' and 'soon her sex tape will be out' to be judging her based on what she is wearing in the OP.

She looks like her older sister now and it's clear she is trying to look like her, hence the video reference. I still stand by no one named called a 17 year old. Acting and calling her outfit trashy is a big difference then saying this girls a slut. Her outfit is slutty for any age and posting bikini crotch pics like that is acting like a hooch. I would smack the life out of my niece if she posted a bikini pic like that. Hopefully she grows up knowing better.

I find it funny that pics of Miley in a mid drift shirt and pants got worse actual name calling and no one ever got up in arms.i think this is more of the LIF celeb battle to fight negative comments on this board, so people are jumping on anything now a days. Eta: not you Kingklang with the last statement.
