Im more offended by what privileges she has in jail than her hairspray and makeup. Apparently she works out three times a day and even has spin classes! Im so glad our taxes go to her going to spin class.

Actually , all that stuff is sold in the commissary. You can look it up online. If you read the book Orange is the New Black ( the author also served at Danbury ) she talks about buying all sorts of things in the commissary. The same thing goes for the exercise classes. In the book she mentions doing daily yoga and running the track. Remember that this isn't Alcatraz. It is a minimum security camp. These types of privileges are standard. The camp where Martha Stewart served (Alderson ) is very similar.

I was going to mention Orange is the New Black as well. It's a fascinating read into what life is like for prisoners in these minimum security prisons.
While it may seem like they have a lot of privileges compared to a maximum security prison, they are, in fact, still in prison.

Yes, great book. So interesting! It is definitely still a prison, but quite different than the cliche we all have in our minds of prison life.
