Bruce Jenner in fatal accident (someone else died)
Bruce Jenner was involved in a horrific car accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu at around noon Saturday and one person is dead ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us ... there were 3 vehicles involved in the crash. We're told there were 8 people involved and all sustained some sort of injury ... but one person died at the scene.

I feel horrible for this woman's family. I read a young boy was in her car, probably her grandson. So, so sad.

News is saying no chase. They'll have to investigate and look at more common causes like texting and phone activity. Someone can die so easily when those things are going on. And no second chances.

I just accidently saw a pic of the accident (the moment of impact in the rear ending with the woman in the pic may she RIP). I didn't want to see it but it's on the ny post homepage.
Anyway, in the pic you can definitely see Bruce holding his iPhone by the steering wheel. The reports are saying the paparazzi was not to blame and there was no chase. Looks like another tragic case of texting while driving.

That picture is sad! But I wonder....where was the person at that took this picture? Looking at the other pictures, the highway runs along the water, and there isn't much room for someone to just be parked on the side of the road, and then to catch that photo right at the moment of impact seems so bizarre. I wouldn't put it past Papparazzi to be taunting him, I really wouldn't. They are scum of the earth. I don't see an iphone in the picture, the mirror is blocking the view of anything he would have in his hands.

The real scum is anyone who would text or smoke or anything behind the wheel on the highway. Driving and multitasking kills. Indiscriminately.
Until we punish it the way it needs to be punished, this will continue.
And we and our families are all potential victims.

I just read a few hours ago that the car in front of the white one stopped suddenly causing a chain reaction.
Bruce Jenner may not be the driver who caused a woman to die on PCH Saturday ... because law enforcement tells TMZ they now believe the Prius that led the pack made a sudden stop, causing the Lexus crash into it ... BEFORE Bruce hit the Lexus.
As TMZ first reported ... Sheriff's deputies were suspicious of the story the Prius driver told. She said she was stopped at a red light, but she was 300 feet from the light. When cops asked her if there was a line of cars in front of her she was vague. Deputies think she might have been making an illegal U-turn.
So the current scenario is this ... the Prius came to a sudden, possibly illegal stop on the highway. The Lexus hit the Prius and then Bruce slammed on his brakes, swerved right but was unable to stop, slamming into the Lexus. The Lexus then went into oncoming traffic and hit the Hummer, killing the Lexus driver.
It appears there is no criminal liability on Bruce's part. As for civil liability, there is a law that you cannot follow too close and need to prepare for sudden events. But if the Prius stopped without warning ... that driver could be at the very least partly responsible for the accident.

6:00 PM PST -- Jenner released a statement about the crash saying, "My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident."
Bruce adds, "It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

I was reading a few comments regarding this on the TMZ page, and something is off with the whole thing. Why would the Paparrazi be on the that side of the road taking photos of him just driving. On the side of the road where the water is, just snapping pics of celebs driving on a busy highway? Seems really off. Someone mentioned it could have been a set up with the Prius driver involved to get him into the accident, and photograph the entire thing, then make $$$ selling the pics to sites like TMZ! I wouldn't put it past them to set this up.
