Pediatrician Recs for Merrick Area
Looking to possibly switch pediatricians. The doctors in the current practice we visit are great but wait times are pretty horrible and the staff and system processes are a bit of a mess.
However, to be fair, when we initially interviewed our pediatrician, he was upfront about their weaknesses.

We go to Bellmore Merrick Pediatrics on Newbridge Road - Dr Jassey office.
They are open 7 days a week with appointments as late as 7 pm.
I have had to wait up to 20 mins but have never had a problem getting an appointment.
They have multiple doctors and nurse practicioners so we see someone different each time. Doesn't bother me but some prefer smaller staffs.

Same here. We just see the same doctor for well visits, but feel comfortable with any doctor or NP or PA we see for random sick visits.

I use bellmore Merrick pediatraicns too and I have to say their wait time stinks! If I take my kids for weekend or evening appts and end up bringing dinner for them bc it takes so long. Even when I make their first appt of the day, (which is now all I make).::: I still wait 15 minutes. So since that is your problem with your current group, I would avoid them. I also don't like that you can't make an appt more than one month out.
Unfortunately I don't have a recommendation but I would hate for you to switch to them bc it'll be the same problem

My son is currently a patient at Pediatric Healthcare of Long Island, but I'm looking to switch. They don't seem to follow any of the guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and each doctor will tell you something different, which can be annoying and confusing.

we also go to bellmore merrick and we see Jonathan Jassey for all her well visits and only had to wait once for about 20 min and i have also had to take her for sick visits and never waited for those
the hours are great since i work fulltime

I use them but have had the opposite experience. I feel they follow the academy to a T and I feel each doctor uses very similar procedures and points of view.

We go to Jassey's office, too. The only time we've really had to wait was when we were being squeezed in last minute for an evening appt. But I appreciate that they always get my son in ASAP when he's sick.

I live in Bellmore/merrick area but I see Dr. Lippmann in Baldwin. Highly recommend him.
