SOA - finale (spoilers)
What did you think?
I don't know how I feel about it. I guess he had to die but I was kind of hoping he would get to start over. But that's not how this show works.
What I did appreciate was that they tied up every loose end. Good stuff.

I am really confused over the homeless lady and the significance of the bread (?) that is shown after Jax sees her and also at the very end.

I don't know, I like that it was all wrapped up but I feel like everything I heard promised more fireworks, more of a surprise, and I found the ending about Jax to be predictable. I think I'm just sad it's over lol nothing would have satisfied me.

I though it kicked as$. They did close up all loose ends, deaths up the wazoo but they all deserved it. The homeless lady was his angle, his inner voice. I cried pretty much the whole show. I love how he tied it all up for all clubs to move forward. I got the chills with able and the ring, like he will just be going through the next 15 yrs until he patches in and history repeats. Him going out on his terms, its how he lived. Only fitting thats how he died. Giving the club the mayhem vote was sayi g its ok to go out like this.
And the white buffalo...bonus. That mans voice is liquid sex. Love it.

I think I feel the same way. I called it from the beginning he was going to kill himself. Dh wanted the club to kill him. Idk I'm feeling blah!

I haven't cried like that since Opie's death! I like how he went out on his own terms. When the episode first started and he was talking to Chibs I thought maybe him and Chibs were going to fake his death and he was going to get out of there. Then I thought that he was going to have Chibs kill him. I totally did not expect him to kill himself. I can't believe it's over......

That jax put up a fight during his mayhem and got away. It was for the other president of the sons. Like he shot Happy, and took off.

I agree it was good though I really wanted Jax to survive though I knew it wasn't going to happen (I wouldn't of minded if he faked his death). It was a very sad episode and Jax killing himself was a sacrifice so no one in the club had to live with doing it.
I do kind of wish they did a future scene from like year or move from then just to see where they all ended up.
As far as the ring who gave it to him it was Jax right? I can remember was it Gemma. if it was I was kind of sad cause I also thought Abel will be joining the club after all that Jax did to save his kids from this it might have just been a waste.

I haven't watched the show pretty much all season but wanted to watch last night.
I figured he would kill himself. It was really the only way to end it. Without people thinking it may come back. I just didn't like that he put the truck driver through that.
I thought he was going to drive off the side of the road.

It was a fitting ending, and really wrapped things up. Wasn't a huge surprise but it worked.
I thought the whole bread/blood thing was a bit of a stretch (and cheesy) but other than that, overall i liked it.
I sobbed when he was saying good bye to his boys, and when they showed Abel in the car with the sons ring. I hope that's not a foreshadowing of him being a part of the club in the future.
But glad Chibs is pres, and the club has money and a future set for them (unless they f it all up, cuz they are criminals after all)
all in all.. a good ending!

I loved it!! I was talking to someone at work about it today and the more I talked about it, the more I liked it because I realized how genius it all was.
Kurt Sutter is a freakin' genius. He closed the entire show with no questions left unanswered. Love him!!
And he said the homeless woman stands for whatever you want her to....she was a bit of magic in a crazy world where everything is black and white. I like to think of her as JT's ghost.....

I cried.
It *was* predictable in many ways. There was this ethereal lighting at the cemetery visiting Tara's grave. You knew something was going to happen. But then when he left his helmet at his dad's memorial, you could predict *how*. But well done. And the crows. What a great way to bring in the theme song.
I'm going to miss the show.

I loved it for so many reasons. Sutter is just a genius writer. I felt more emotion towards these characters than any other show I've ever watched, which I have to chalk up to the storytelling.
One thing I loved was that the last scene with the crows eating the bread on the highway, is almost identical to the opening scene of the pilot. I love when things come full circle like that. It just shows that she (the homeless woman, angel of death, grim reaper) was there from the very beginning. I'm sad to see it go.

ITA I kind of wanted a more exciting finale... but glad the loose ends were tied up.

ITA. I love that it came full circle, it gave me a sense of closure with the show coming to an end.
I loved that his last words to the club were 'I got this.' The same thing Opie said to Jax right before he died.
