On a side note, I thought Lady Gaga was great and I loved her outfit- it's not often that I say that  . She looked like a young Barbara Streisand. In a good way.

Maybe she should wear something that FITS her, and concentrate on her performance rather than sucking in her gut to paint on her dress 
Professional singer here! "Sucking in your stomach" has everything to do with breath control and supporting your sound/pitch. The other side of that is you have to be able to let your stomach OUT to get more air..something she clearly could not do
I think she has nodes. The loss of the top of her register says it all. Even her speaking voice sounded raspy and unhealthy.
Not a professional singer (can't carry ABC) but this is true.

I think I'm the only who didn't think it was that awful.
Well wiith the exception of when she tried hitting the high notes. But we all know she hasn't been hitting those for a while.

I was at The View yesterday and he was on and singing. Fantastic voice.
He sounded great, but all I could hear was the dog Brian from family guy

I meant you have to be able to breathe - when you're 'sucking it in' to look good in your dress, you can't properly breathe to sing - trust me, I spend my life sucking it in
