I think I'm the only who didn't think it was that awful.
Well wiith the exception of when she tried hitting the high notes. But we all know she hasn't been hitting those for a while.

She was a TRAIN WRECK!! She sounded like complete $hit, she moved awkwardly, and she looked like the broad side of a fire truck in that dress.
She needs to STOP with the skin tight, glittery, low cut dresses............she doesn't have the body for it anymore. She sucked last year too so this year was no different. I don't think she can sing anymore. She can't hit any high notes and she barely sings the other parts.........she's either talking through them, gasping for air, or sounds like she has a throat infection. It's hard to believe she was ever able to sing at one point listening to her now.
They need to stop rolling her out for the tree lightning, she is AWFUL every year she's been invited.

And W-T-F with Leanne Rimes????? That song was terrible, a hippo for Xmas???? And her "outfit"????...............she was basically stripping her way through a terrible song on a program that is suppose to be festive and for families. She's so trashy.

I was so annoyed that every female performer with the exception of Trisha Yearwood was half naked. So trashy. Even my kids were like isn't it cold out?? why r they dressed like that.

I was thinking the same thing. Thats song is SOOO not a sexy song. My DH and I are like what is she doing on stage. It was jsut bad.

She was supposed to pre-record the song, but showed up late and the producers wouldn't let her do it so she had to sing live.
It was awful, and she had such a difficult time with everything.
Leann Rimes was a train wreck. That song would only make sense to someone stoned out of their minds. A hippopotamus for Christmas ?

i thought all the song choices were strange. i mean idina menzel can SING. but they have her sing holly jolly christmas. Leanne rimes, um really. Mariah should hang up her skin tight clothes and retire. lol on a positive note the real star of the night was gorgeous.....the tree

I used to look forward to seeing the singers but this year was especially bad. They cant get anyone better (or more current) than Cyndi Lauper and LeeAnn Rimes? LeeAnn Rimes was disgusting...what was that outfit? And why was she dancing like that to I want a hippopotamus? She looked like a hooker with her bare leg sticking out from under her coat and her pointy Madonna boob lingerie outfit.

And Mariah seems to be going to the same plastic surgeons that the Jackson family uses...she looked like Janet or Latoya to me last night with her stretched face. Anyone notice towards the beginning of the song where the music was off from her singing because she was being so dramatic with the opening?

I feel like the acts they get are SO irrelevant. I mean Cyndi Lauper??? What kid today even knows her?? Mariah Carey is washed up, Leanne Rimes is effectively a nobody in the music world. I wish they would book more current, fun acts to support the show. It use to be better. The past few years the whole show feels so boring and blah, even the hosts look tortured. They need to change it up, get fresh talent to perform. This year was particularly terrible IMO.

I don't care HOW amazing of a talent you have. - You can not physically SING while youi are SUCKING IN YOUR STOMACH.
Maybe she should wear something that FITS her, and concentrate on her performance rather than sucking in her gut to paint on her dress

Watching the video posted above- it seemed as if she was having issues with her ear piece. It was really, really bad, though. She looked like she wanted to cry. I felt bad for her. Also- her makeup, outfit and hair were bad. She got pretty heavy.

I watched this about 8 times.
I think she was drunk. the way she was holding on to the mic stand, it was like she was trying to hold herself up.
When she threw her wrap i was thinking "is it hot in here?"

Professional singer here! "Sucking in your stomach" has everything to do with breath control and supporting your sound/pitch. The other side of that is you have to be able to let your stomach OUT to get more air..something she clearly could not do 
I think she has nodes. The loss of the top of her register says it all. Even her speaking voice sounded raspy and unhealthy.
