Does this sound right? Pap Smear at 5 weeks pregnant?

I called the doc to let them know I have a bfp and they said to come in this thursday for a pap and to meet with the doc and then to come back in the first week of dec for a sono.

I said ok,,,but I'm alittle hestitant to go for a pap and just 1 day shy of 5 weeks! doesn't that seem early?

Should I call back and just ask the nurse if I can all be done at my first ultra sound the first week of dec?

I had mine at about 4 weeks. I was due for it and had the appointment scheduled anyway. Nothing happened, although they did warn I could have spotting (which you can have from a pap even when not pg).

sounds normal to me. My OB said it will not have an effect at all on the baby. I think when I was pg with DS I didn't have it until I was about 6-7 months pregnant because thats when I was due for one.

I had it done at my first appt.
I thought it was standard practice for the first appt

It's normal if there is anything going on down there such as an infection they have to give you meds to cure it and it's best to do that early.

I had mine done at 6 weeks. Totally fine!

Normal, but they usually can just do it at your 8 week appt.

I had just found out I was pg when I had to do it so I was I think less than 4 weeks it's perfectly normal and the earlier the better

I had mine at 10 weeks. Caused me to spot a little so I was freaked out but other than that, it's pretty routine.

Yup. Totally normal. I had a little spotting after too. I was told they don't like going more than a year without a pap, so if you get a BFP within 3 months of your last pap they will repeat.

ETA I was 9 weeks when mine was done.

The only reason why I didn't get one was because I had gotten one a month before getting pregnant.

ETA: I then got one at my 6w pp appointment since it didn't make sense to come back 2 months later.

I had a pap at my first appt as well because I was due for it anyway. They gave me the option to wait for the next appt but I decided to just get it over with while I was already there.

I had one very early on as well, must have been by 7 weeks.

My OB had me wait til my postpartum checkup. Said I could get weird results during pregnancy...
