GOT - 4/27 - BOOK SPOILERS
ok, in last nights episode, there were two things I just don't remember from the books and wasn't sure if its just my bad memory or if it was actually different..
When Bran, Hodor and the other guys were captured by the mutinous nights watch crew.. was that in the book? I don't remember that story line at all.
And what was that with the baby at the end?
Anyone who's read the books and has a better memory than i do, please chime in

Re: GOT - 4/27 - BOOK SPOILERS
I didn't read them but DH did and is always telling me things that were different at the end of the episode. He didn't say anything about the Bran being captured stuff but the baby at the end he did say. He said because the books are done in POV, you only see what each character sees. Since the White Walkers aren't POV characters, the reader would never see what happens with them/the babies. But apparently this is how they grow their army. They steal the babies and turn them into White Walkers.

It's been a while since I read the books but I don't remember them being captured by the nights watch defects, either.

yup. even my DH who listened to GOT on audio books immediately knew that never happened and he has the worst memory LOL Bran's story once he leaves Winterfell is completely supernatural side of the books and thus his, Hodor's, Meera's and Jojen's storyline doesn't touch upon other ppl as they set on their way to beyond the wall but, I can see why the showrunners would want to put them being captured into the show - how boring a show would be depicting kids moving thru mounds of snow for weeks? basically I get it why they went that way

Re: GOT - 4/27 - BOOK SPOILERS
I had the same reaction. The white walkers turning the child into one of them is a book AND show spoiler because it never happened in the book. It raises questions about what their intentions are, who he was, who was the guy on the horse...
Do white walkers age? They must because what good would a baby white walker do them anyway?
