Fun topic
For those of you actually old enough to give this question some serious thought:
Think back to the type of person you were at 18. If you met your current self on the street and hung out for a day, would your "younger" self LIKE your "current" self and what would you say to the other self?

Re: Fun topic
I think the younger version of myself would like who I have grown into although I might wonder when the heck I stopped being able to stay out so late so often.
I think the current version of myself would be happy that I was having the greatest time of my life but I might try to pursuade her not to be so guarded of herself. The younger version may have said "You married Chris ?!?!?!?" DH just loved when I gave that answer!

Re: Fun topic
ok, WELL.... i am only 3 years away from my 18 year old self, BUT.....to answer the question;
YES i think i would like my current 21 yr old self. i got myself out of a pretty bad situation from when i was at 18 and i would be CRAZY happy that i married Kevin! (we were broken up)
and i'd like my hair too!
eta: i would tell myself to slow down with the partying though and not to get too involved with the person i was seeing at hte time.

Re: Fun topic
I think my younger version would be happy and relieved to see that I was happy, married to a great man and pursuing my Master's. Actually I think my younger person would be shocked at all I have accomplished!

And looking back at your younger self, how do you feel about her?

I was actually wondering how many people would have this as their responses

Re: Fun topic
I think I would like who i have become and what i have accomplished in my life. I think it would put a lot of worries to rest.
BUT as a 18 year old i wouldn't appreciate who i am as a person just yet. I was a PITA who ALWAYS felt i knew better. Some may think that i am still like that but i have to say i have grown a GREAT appreciation for other peoples opinions and advice! I have learned to judge a little less and at least try to see the other side of the coin.

I would tell her to enjoy college, but to take it easy and not party as much.....oh and to pick a different major

Me too!
I wonder if my 18 year old self would have the perspective to like my 33 year old self. When I was 18 I valued things that, when I look back, I see were a waste of time.

Re: Fun topic
I think the 18 year old would be surprised at how I turned out. I was pretty airheaded then, and ended up getting it together a couple of years later. And I would tell "18 year old self" to take life a tad more seriously and stop focusing on men so much.

Re: Fun topic
awwww Donna- i love ?s like this (i always wonder what i would say to myself as a little kid)
i really think the only thing i'd tell my 18 year old self (and i think Mo said this too)- is to pick a different Major; something more in demand and logical for the real world I did alot of partying, but i wouldnt change that (even w/ getting my stomache pumped and all ).... there was a time and place for everything, and i'm glad that i was able to take advantage of that period of my life as i did. Maybe i'd tell her to go home and visit her parents and grandparents more, b/c theyre not going to be with us forever- but thats something that even my 24 yr old self still needs to work on.
i think my 18 yr old self would be proud of me- i always said i'd be married at 24, and didnt want to move back to Brooklyn- and those came true. Also, i dont feel like ive changed as a person, or sold out in anyway, so i think she'd be happy to see that her funny & caring side was still alive in me
great question, Donna!
