I have to watch online and its not very clear. I even replayed and paused but the more i zoomed in the more blurry it got. Also, I must be toddler-brain lately because I am starting to struggle following this now .

It def looked like his face was scarred. I didn't think the scarring was bad enough to be the guy they've been talking about though (like a little girl wouldn't describe that guy as a spaghetti faced monster right?) but why else would they show that scene? I am confused. I was so tired when I watched it after the oscars last night so I'll prob have to watch the episode again. Can't wait for the season finale!

It is true that they only are going one season, that was always the case for both Woody and Matthew, and YES it is a lot to wrap up!
Next season I heard Denzel and maybe Val Kilmer?
If that's true then they have a lot to wrap up in the last episode on Sunday.

The whole concept of the show is that each season is a show in itself and stands alone. So new characters and plot.
Also new directors each seass

I'm also going to miss the Rust/Marty dynamic.

Yes, it was scarred.
I watched it on demand and following the episode, they have 5 minutes of commentary by the director/creator of the series. He said that the episode ended with a clear shot of the killer.
