16 month feeding issues

DD was always a great eater. My friends were amazed at what she'd gobble down when she was around 12 months. Now her appetite has gone down, way down and she's starting to show preferences aka picky! I know this is expected but if you have any tips to keep her eating healthy and a variety of foods. Thanks.

Drs say as long as they are getting one good meal and vitamins they will be ok.
My twins are 27 months. I have one that WONT EAT. He is in 75% for weight but I think the teething hurts them so they dont want to chew.

16 month feeding issues

ive been having the same problem with my 16 month old!!
i'll make dinner, she will have like 2 bites and push her plate away and say no.
then i'll give her a yogurt pouch, she might have a few sips.
then i'll give her some fruit if she will eat it.
its very frustrating!!!!!!!
i feel like she is hardly eating a thing.
she isn't really drinking her milk either.
so it must be the age!

Re: 16 month feeding issues

This has been going on with my 20 month old for months. She had some eating issues early on, so it's sometimes hard for me to tell what's normal and what's a true issue. However, the pattern that I've seen is that she eats well for a week or two, then lousy for a week or two, etc. We are on an off week this week. From what I read, it's normal, but still so frustrating. Some days, she will eat a whole chicken leg cut up, plus rice, and half an avocado for dinner. Other nights, aside from the avocado, which she always eats, she'll take a few bites and she's done. And don't get me started on how she throws her food on the floor!

that happened to my daughter around 18 months! she ate everything and anything....she would literally eat a slice and a half of pizza! then all of a sudden she became super picky.

....and at almost 4 years old she remains super picky. she still wont eat things she used to love, like pizza.

Re: 16 month feeding issues

DS has become more picky in the recent weeks; he is 14 1/2 months. I have found that if I give him a plate of food with everything on it, he will eat what he wants and leave his veggies. However, I now give him his veggies 1st, with no other of his 'favorites' in sight. Only after he eats his vegetables do i give him what he loves (fruit and meat). It's been working, so far

I find my ds goes through phases. He is a great eater 90% of the time so I don't worry if we have off days or even longer.

omg fruit, fruit and more fruit! the way she eats blueberries reminds me of violet from willy wanka.

I guess I will keep offering things to her and just keep trying.

I am going through the same thing with my 16m ds. Now I will put a plate of veggies, chicken and fruit on a plate and let him eat what he wants. Usually he will take 2-3 bites from each thing on the plate then push it away or dump the plate on the floor.
