Uterine Irritation

Has anyone experienced uterine irritation? I am 28 weeks today and I have been having pain/pressure and irregular contractions that increase with activity. My doctor had me go to the hospital for monitoring yesterday. Thankfully, my cervix is long and closed. Based on the absence of other symptoms and the pattern of the uterine contractions and "quivering" the attending felt that my uterus was likely irritated. She said this can happen when the baby starts to put on weight and may go away as my body adjusts. I saw my OB today and she was not overly concerned but has told me to "take it easy" and has strongly suggested that I stay with in a short drive of the hospital. I am hoping this passes but I am a little concerned. Any advice?

My OB said I had "irritable uterus" or whatever that means....Other then making me uncomfotable and having lots of tightening I delivered on my own at 41 weeks

This makes me feel better! I can deal with the discomfort as long as my DD stays put for another 10+ weeks.

I had this. Started about 34 weeks. At 35 weeks I ended up in labor and delivery and they had to stop contractions. Doctor then pulled me out of work and put me on modified bedrest until 38 weeks. DD stayed put till I was induced 3 days past my due date and then had her 2 days later. Listen to your doctor. I found that if I did to much it would get much worse. Also drink a ton of water
Good luck!

Thanks MrsP6311- I am not working right now so I full control over my activity level. I do struggle to drink as much water as I am suppose to so I will definitely drink more.

Just take it easy as possible. I kinda just laid around for the last few weeks and it seemed to help.
