no appetite post partum
If you have been following my posts you know I've been having a rough week. Baby will be 3 weeks on Friday. Suddenly the past 3 days I've had no appetite and wake up throwing up bile. Is this normal with hormonal changes? a friend of mine said I have symptoms of ppd and should call doc since I've also been feeling a heaviness in my chest. I called on gyno and he said I might have a virus bc this isn't a pregnancy symptom and I should call my internist. Any advice? Will this pass or should I see a doc?

no appetite post partum
I think I'm throwing up in the morning bc my stomach is so empty. I've eaten next to nothing in 3 days.

Re: no appetite post partum
Gallstones are fairly common postpartum, I would call your doctor. Especially if you are vomiting bile.

Re: no appetite post partum
that happened to me, in fact I lost all my baby weight only to to gain it all back now 5 months post pardum. I was very depressed the first few weeks and wouldn't eat anything! plus there was no time. We have gotten into a great routine and I promise you in a few weeks you will be in such a better place, but def call someone if you feel you need too. my depression only lasted 2 weeks or so, and then after I found out I had no milk supply and gave formula, things got so much better. now at 5 months I can shower, eat, go out, he plays be himself, hardly cried and sleeps through the night. PLEASE fm me if you want to talk I was exactly in your situation a few month ago and it gets so much better!!! xo

Re: no appetite post partum
I had no appetite for the first two weeks post partum, but I was not throwing up. My appetite came back very slowly after that. It took several weeks for me to feel somewhat normal. I would definitely get checked out.

no appetite post partum
I had a very small appetite post partum. It lasted long enough for me to lose the 20lbs of baby weight I gained (not that I haven't since gained it back, lol). I would eat much less often and very small meals but I did eat. I never vomited. I would call your internist it can't hurt to get checked out.
Good luck!

Why haven't you eaten in 3 days?

Yes and it is SOOO common post partum. Do you have any pain? My tip off was the God awful pain under my right rib cage that lasted for 3 days - I then headed to the ER

Re: no appetite post partum
I lost my appetite too and I think it was part of me feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and I was just so busy with my LO that I had no time to eat. I also think the hormones had a lot to do with it. I wasnt throwing up tho but I was nibbing here and there. You will get ur appetite back slowly.

Re: no appetite post partum
Go see a MD even if it turns out to be nothing you still have the peace of mind that you are ok. Remember you have to take care of you also to be the best mommy for your LO. Its so easy to lose sight of this PP and you need to be strong which includes eating. I hope you feel better but maybe just make yourself eat something so you have food even if you are not hungry. See the MD, get some good sleep and feel better
