Going away with a 7w old infant
Would you take a 7w old baby on a short weekend getaway? DH and I are celebrating our 7 year anniversary and we have always done something. I would love to do a short weekend away, Saturday-Monday close to home (East End LI or maybe Cape May NJ). I am thinking of all the things we would need to bring ie bassinet, mats, stroller, carrier, diapers, etc. is it worth it?

Definitely! Our easiest road trip was when DD was about 6 weeks. She slept the whole drive and slept better at night than she did at home. I would definitely go for it!

Yes!! This is by far the easiest time to travel!! We took DD to Boston at just under 3 months and that trip was a breeze.

Go for it, we took our twins boys who were six weeks to Lake George on a family trip. Wasn't bad at all, they usually are sleeping most of the time.

Yes! We took DD away for the weekend when she was about 6 or 8 weeks (can't remember exactly) and it was so easy. She slept the entire car ride as well as any time we were on the move, like out for a walk, out to eat, etc.

Re: Going away with a 7w old infant
Depends on the baby. At 7 weeks my DD was colic and screamed pretty much 24/7. No way could we take her on a car trip. No way could we stay in a hotel. We wouldn't have enjoyed it even a little bit. And security would probably have thrown us out for keeping the other guests awake all night with the screaming. I coudln't even take her for a 10 minute ride to the store- she'd scream bloody murder the whole time. I love the people who say- oh the newborn stage is the time to do things, like restaurants etc., all they do is sleep at that age. Yeah right. Meet my DD.

Re: Going away with a 7w old infant
I could not because my baby screams way too much, especially overnight, but if you have a calm baby, then definitely.
