4 month old and change
PLease tell me I'm not the only one....
Were getting our bathroom redone so we have to shower at our parents' houses. I took my DD(4 months old) to my moms to give her a bath yesterday. I put my DD in her tub that I placed in my moms tub. My DD freaked out starting screaming and crying. It took me a good twenty minutes to calm her down. I figured maybe it was because the walls of the tub were higher than normal, plus she's never been in that room of my moms house.
Fast forward to tonight at my moms. I put her in the new swing my mom bought for my DD and she freaked the same way she did the previous night in the tub. We calmed her down then it was bath time. I figured she needed some time to adjust to the big tub again. So I had her on my lap and we were playing with the toys before I put her in her tub. There were times when she cried but not so much as before.
My question is, does anyone else find their little one freaking with new things and change? I go back to work in two weeks and I've never been away from my DD. (I went on maternity leave and then the school year ended.) She's going to be with my friend/her godmother 4 days and 1 day with my mom.
Anyone have any suggestions? My mom has watched her plenty of times and she's always been fine with her. My friend has watched her before as well. I am going to bring her to my friends house before hand to get use to it.
I just find this as something my DD has never done. Freaked out to something new.
Sorry this was so long!

Re: 4 month old and change
My ds never liked change at any age. But after a little while he would get used to it. We went to AZ to visit my mil when he was 15 months & the 1st night he barely slept. He slept better as the week when on. He also was screaming the 1st time he took a bath there but was better the next night.
As far as leaving your lo with your friend when you go back to work she will get used to it. It will soon be her new normal.

Thanks for responding! My DD took a bath for the 3rd day in a row at my moms and she was her silly self. Now I know to ease her into new things.
