Store brand formula?

What's everyone's opinion on it? Has anybody used them? They are so much less expensive plus I get an extra discount on top of that for working at the store! Any feed back would be appreciated! Thanks!

I use the target brand. It's exactly the same as enfamil and much cheaper, dd tolerates it well...

Store brand formula?

All formulas are nutritionally regulated to have min/max amounts of vitamins and minerals in them. If you do a side by side comparison of the formula you're using to its generic equivalent they're 99% the same.

The company that makes the generic versions does so for all generics and just puts different labels on the containers. Target, walmart, babies r us, cvs, bj's, pathmark (america's choice), rite aid are just to name a few. So wherever the sales are you can switch around and not worry about it.

Store brand formula?

I ave my twins target formula. DD was in the regular target formula and DS was on the sensitive Target formula. Both were fine with it. I struggled with it at first, being a first time mom. They were on breast milk for five months and I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing with formula to begin with but store brand formula made me panic! I got over it after a couple of weeks and without question, I put my newborn DS in it last year! U thi k store brand is perfectly fine.

Re: Store brand formula?

I tried bjs version of similac advance and BRU version OG similac sensitive. Both gave dd poops. The powder simac brand is fine got her. If she didn't have lactose issue it would probably be fine.

Re: Store brand formula?

I used store brand Organic formula (couldn't get it in NY, so my cousin shipped it to me from VA). If I need formula again, I'll do the same thing. My DD didn't react differently to name vs. store brand and the price was so much better.

Re: Store brand formula?

Exact.Same.Shit.
Even my ped agreed
By law, all formulas must be nutrionally equal in all ways.
We used Target and I'd never ever buy a brand name again.
She did great on it.
And now she is a happy, healthy 3 year old- and I saved a boat load of cash.
Win-win.

Re: Store brand formula?

I'm using target brand of Enfamil and I notice it doesn't mix quite as well as the brand name. No big deal, just gotta mix a little more.

Re: Store brand formula?

i will start by saying i have never worked for a company that produced baby formula but having worked in the consumer goods industry for over 10+ years i will agree with most pp. most generic items are manufactured and co-packed by mainstream brands & names that you know. the formulations will be the same and the fda regulations will be followed.

the only difference i am 100% sure of is quality control.

most "brand name" companies have stricter standard levels for their brand. for example - peanut butter.
the FDA may require a check list for 10 health requirements and quality measures before it can be sold for consumption ~ jiffy peanut butter make make their check list consist of 15. ensuring they put out a top quality product. now brand x may have contracted jiffy to manufacture & package their peanut butter but it will bot undergo the additional 5 quality measurements.

so IMO - there are many generic store items that i buy and use without issue, items that i consume into my body i do not.

diapers, wipes ~ totally buy bjs brand but the baby formula i would buy the name brand stuff. it was a peace of mind for me knowing that it went through more rigorous quality measures.

yes store brand is the "same" but yet very different at the same time. i hope this helps.
