Indoor things to do near Hershey
We are supposed to go to Hershey tomorrow and are now hearing possible rain so want to get a plan b. I know we can dot he Hershey experience stuff indoors but is there anything great for kids close to Hershey?

Indoor things to do near Hershey
How old are your kids? Lancaster and Strausburgh are about half an hr from Hershey and have a bunch of things to do. We especially liked the Railroad museum in Strausburgh-they have old engines and cars on display and an entire section of toy models that you can interact with. Choo Choo Barn is also nearby and they have an awesome display of tiny model trains and village.

Thanks everyone, yes we will def do Hershey World. DS can't wait to make his chocolate bar! We are also doing Strasburg and Cherry Crest Farm the following day. Turkey Hill may be a good idea!

Indoor things to do near Hershey
We just got home from Hershey. We went to the park all day on Tuesday and they kept saying rain rain rain. It drizzled for a little while, and was overcast ALL day, but no heavy downpours. That definitely kept the crowds away! So if it looks like it's going to rain, but isn't downpouring, I would go anyway! If most of the rides close, they will issue a raincheck I was told.
As far as indoors, we did Chocolate World one day. We did the 4D tour, the ride, the Kiss factory and make your own Chocolate Bar. All of that took about 3 hours to do. The trolley ride looks nice also. There is the Hershey Story Museum (Groupon right now, too). It's very interesting, we did it last year. The kids can do a little scavenger hunt as you walk through. I will say that I enjoyed that more than my kids, but it's something inexpensive and indoors.

Thank you! What part of Hershey World did your kids enjoy most? My LO's are 5 and 2.
They loved the movie, and always love the ride. I could have lived without the make your own chocolate bar, it's expensive, and you don't actually make it, the machine does, on a line, but it's neat to watch.

We did the Hershey Trolley Tour in drizzle since it's all enclosed. It was a lot of fun, you see some beautiful old houses and get free samples.
It was $19 for adults, less for kids, but a very happy hour for us!
ETA We did some mall in downtown Lancaster, right by Franklin and Marshall College on that same rainy day and had fun there, too.
