Swimmers itch
Anyone have any experience with this? Can you get it from a public pool? My DS takes swim lessons and has had a rash that went from mild to severe in about 4 days. We are seeing the dermatologist later, just wondering if anyone has seen this before. Thanks!

Re: Swimmers itch
My friends daughter is allergic to swim suits.. It is the material they use in it.. It didn't happen right away but if she wore the suit a lot, she had a horrible rash all over...

Re: Swimmers itch
A fungal infection? Yes. Had a friend who got it as a teen from a public pool. Resolved easily.
Foot warts are worse... And harder to get rid of... Also public pools, and pedicure places.

Re: Swimmers itch
My DD has problem with pool chemicals (not sure which ones but it happened both here in our village pool, her lesson pool and disney but not on our cruises or the ocean). She gets a bad itchy rash after swimming. We learned if we give her allergra 2x a day during swim season she is fine. Have you tried changing sun tan lotions, showering immediately when getting out of the pool (that helped her a lot), limiting time in the pool? There is no allergy test btw if you think it is an allergy.
