Getting sick..
Ds is 16 months old.. When he was under12 months he had about 3 colds..once he turned a year, he is getting sick very often..sometime every month, 3 weeks, and now two weeks after having a fever virus, he has woken up with congestion and signs of a cold! My ped said to expect getting sick every month due to him developing his immune system ...I don't keep him in a bubble, we go to mommy and me, the beach, parks etc...and during the school year he is with a babysitter that watches other school age children.
Any thoughts? Is there something I can do to help protect him? I just started poly vysol vitamins a couple of weeks ago.
Tia.

Getting sick..
If its just colds then I wouldn't do anything. They need to get sick to help build up their immune system.
My DS has a cold a month....little bit less now that he is getting older. But he has only ever had colds and I think thats because he has had so many that he has been able to fight other germs off.

Getting sick..
DS got sick very frequently when he was around 8 months old - part because he was in daycare. He'd go from one illness to the next to the point where it seemed he was sick with something for weeks. Thank God it was colds, fevers and maybe an ear infection here or there. Nothing horrendous. It was hard to see him that way!
The good news he is now 3 (still in daycare 4 days a week) and ***knock on wood*** rarely gets sick at all!!

Getting sick..
DS is like this too (he just turned 2). He's in daycare twice a week and he caught something, without fail, every two weeks. I was a complete wreck because a majority of the time it was fever viruses.

Re: Getting sick..
It's all part of them growing up. I did find giving eldeberry syrup & probiotics helps a lot but doesn't fully eliminate.
