In's and out's of Sesame Place

Hello all. I am looking for people to share any advice about going to Sesame Place. that might help us going for the first time with our 2 year old. All the in'sand out's would be great. Thank you in advance.

Here is my trip advisor review. Basically, go early, leave and come back- get your ticket and parking receipt stamped so you don't have to pay again and don't bother with the preferred parking, you don't need it.

We took our 21 month old to Sesame Place, unsure of if she would be old enough to "get it." I was also a little creeped out by the concept of water attractions with so many little kids. We had a great time! We went in the morning, when it first opened, in hopes of finding a clean and clear water experience. I have heard many mixed reviews but the place was clean.

We saw all of the characters out and about, except for Elmo, Abby, and Big Bird. Elmo and Abby and company were at one of the free shows. My daughter had a blast seeing them up close! Try and sit near the signs that say "don't sit here" because that is where the characters go and interact with the kids. After the show we left and went back to the hotel for naps and lunch. We went back about two hours before the parade started. Make sure you see the parade! The best spot to set up is where the blue and black parts of the street meet. Big bird leads the parade, all of the characters are there, and they are get out and interact with the kids. Look at the videos of it on youtube.

All in all, it was a great time. However, I didn't have to pay for my daughter because she was under two so it was an expensive day. We had $10 off coupons but it was still $100 for my husband and I. We won't be going back until she is older and taller, so she can do more and get the most for our money.

Now for the "extra" costs. Parking was either $15 or $18. Be aware that you CAN leave and them come back *without* paying for parking as long as they stamp your receipt on the way out. Speaking of stamping things, have them stamp your ticket, not hand, when you leave because it isn't one of those high tech stamps that won't wash off. It was humid and ours was gone by the time we got to the car! Lockers are also a rip-off at $20.

We went in October with our 14 month old at the time and had a blast. We did not miss the water rides at all. DS was free at the time and we got a couple of good off-season deals (buy 1 day get 1 free), so it was not terribly expensive. We stayed at the Sheraton across the street, which had a free shuttle to the park, so we didn't pay for parking.

We did the Elmo breakfast, the food wasn't great, but the interaction with the characters was worth it.

We went with 2 kids: 7 months and 23 months.
The 7 month old couldn't do anything at all.
The 2 year old loved the parade and could go on the rides. He is not a sesame fan, so the character magic was lost on him.
We went through the place with all rides in a few hours (3). Wasn't crazy about the rides. The water park was no better than a kiddie pool at his age,
$100 for all of us was a lot. I prefer to go to an amusement park. The parking fee was ridiculous!
We didn't go back this year.

We took 2.5 yo DS in June. We stayed at the Springhill Suites right next door, which is a 5-min walk to the park, so we didn't have to pay for parking. We bought Twilight tickets for $25/pp which are good after 3 PM. It was perfect, because we still got there in time for the parade and it was just the right amount of time to spend there. We also avoided the super hot part of the day. We stayed until closing at 8 PM. You definitely don't need more than 3-4 hours there with little ones. We spent most of our time in the big wading pool, but did make it around the whole park. There were a few rides that DS was too small for (or just wouldn't like) but I feel that we were able to take advantage of almost everything. The food is nothing to write home about, but I think that's true of any theme park. We would definitely go back.
