Venue Recommendations
I decided to do DD's christening and bday party the same day and now need a venue. I'm in the Queens area so I don't want anything too far. I'm willing to go to LI but not too far out east. Any recommendations and if you have price that will help a lot as well.
Party will be in January.

If I'm paying per person than my total guest list won't exceed 60. Not looking to spend no more than $60 per person.
If I rent a hall, than I might end up with about 80-100 people.

At that $60 pp and 60 people, I think that a party at a nice restaurant is really intimate, with great food and will offer you the best bang for your $$.
That being said, if you wanted to, some wedding venues may have a great price in January. I'd try to price out Swan's club & Westbury manor: both are nice & very outdoors, so may work with you on the price. Fox Hollow is further, but has a very pretty room. Not sure how it's priced. Forget Terrace on the park (I called a few times recently & they couldn't get below $60 pp excluding tax & tip).
I hosted 2 parties already at Louie's Oyster Bar & Grille. I like their food & love the room they can give you for about 60 people.
I've also done pizzarias & Italian restaurants (private rooms). It's an easy party & can be dolled up.
Last party I did (DD Christening) was adjacent to a golf-course Italian restaurant & they closed down the restaurant for us (we just went in & asked if they could handle it). It was $38 a head for a really amazing menu (alcohol separate) and was amazing. The place closed now.
Try any local restaurants around you... most can make a menu. I've been to a bunch of events on Metropolitan in Forest Hills. Last one was at Dee's and a lot of fun (Jack & Jill baby shower).
