13 month old who hates eating! help!

My dd is 13 months and very active. She hates to sit still. She hates being strapped into her high chair most days. She wont sit still long enough for me to feed her. Shes just started walking so im sure thats not helping but shes never been an amazing eater she would rather drink bottles.

My main concern is shes just not eating enough at all. she barely eats her table food no matter what i do. She barely wants to eat her purees. Heres a list of things i try with her. Some days it works most days it doesnt. She ends up starving and devours a bottle when i finally give her one.

Strapped in high chait with toys while i feed her
Strapped in high chair while she feeds herself (works
More often but what do i do when im not home?)
Not strapped in just on her play mat with her toys and feed her while on the move
Not strapped in put down a disposable table mat and let her feed herself
Feed her purees to get her to eat but i nwed her to eat more table food

shes not getting she has to eat food to fill up not a bottle
to fill up and table foood as a snack. I have tried cutting
out hr afternoon bottle but some days i cant. Im at my wits end especially because the peds keeps telling me she has to cut back on bottles and start eating more table food.

she will eat more if you eliminate bottles. It will be a frustrating few days but she will eat more. Maybe try spacing her food out a bit to.every 3-4 hours so she is hungry. I would designate one routine for eating. Do the same thing at every meal so she gets used to the routine. I would sit her at the table so if you are out to eat, she gets used to it. If you are out, out food on the tray of her stroller or use a restaurant high chair. To get her to eat , have the food cut up and ready to go. Let her hold a baby fork or spoon to keep her occupied. How many oz of milk is she getting per day? 1 year olds only need 16-24oz of dairy per day and a slice of cheese has 6 oz. Do you try different foods with her?

Strap her in the high chair. Hive table food and ignore her. I found ds eats more when I go about my business.

Here are a few tips from my DD's feeding therapist:

Make a meal schedule with 3-4 hours between feedings, so that she gets hungry. For example:

6:30 bottle
9:30 breakfast
12:30 lunch
3:30 bottle
6:30 dinner
bottle before bed.

All meals should last no more than 30 minutes, regardless of what was eaten.

Give lots of praise for positive mealtime behavior (e.g., "Wow, you did a great job putting the noodle in your mouth!" "Great job chewing!")

I'll let you know what else I think of. I have to work now, but I feel your pain.

How many bottles does she get? By 13 months DD was getting 3 cups of milk a day (still does at 2) - one when she wakes up, one with lunch, and one after dinner.

Honestly, I'd cut out whatever bottles you need to cut out and just keep offering her the food. She'll eat if she's hungry. and after a few days she'll realize you're not giving her the bottle. Right now she's not eating because she knows you're going to give in and gie her the bottle. A few days of not eating too much isn't going to hurt her. My DD goes through phases where for a while she'll barely eat. Fights everything I give her. And then a week later I can't feed her enough.

Shes getting 4 bottles a day at this point. About 5-6 oz bottles. I usually space out 2 hours but maybe ill do 3. Out of the 3 meals a day i feed her i would say she does best with breakfast. I appreciate all your advice. And will try all of this. I will strap her in have it ready for her and refuse to give her a bottle.

I def wasnt making sure it was always prepared before feeding her.
I always praise her especially since she lovesss praise and attention so much. Lol
And the most important thing is i have to not give her the bottle.

Also shes not drinking milk yet so shes still on alimentum and will be until shes 15 months.

Shr hates being strapped in and we have gone out to dinner put her in the highchair and she screams and makes a scene because she wants to walk around.

Ive tried my cooking my grandmothers and restaurant. I still dont see a patter. One day she loves minestrone soup home made the next she wont touch it. One day she loves her cut spaghetti the next shes playing with it not eating it.

Ah, this is my DD. She pretty much skipped right over baby food. Never ate it and it was always a battle. She will eat table food, but is super picky. It was around that age that I asked for advice on here and everyone suggested taking a bottle away. Once I dropped to 3 I saw some improvement. DD will also eat more when I'm not looking. Sometimes I'll just put the high chair next to me when I'm washing dishes and I notice she'll eat more. My DD is now 16 months and getting a little better. I think I'll just always have a picky eater. Good luck! I really think less formula will definitely help.
