Making your own baby food question

How hard is it if you don't have something like the Beaba or the Baby Bullet? I already know I'm not going to exclusively make my own (FTWM with two older stepkids, simply don't have time) but I do want to make some stuff. I don't know if it's worth it to throw down a bunch of money on one of those machines when I already have a food processor unless it would be soooooo much easier to have an all-in-one (if so I might splurge to make it easier on me/more likely that I'll keep it up). If it's worth it - which food maker would you recommend?

It's not hard at all. While I had a Baby Bullet and loved it, in hindsight it probably wasn't necessary. I did like that it came with baby food jars and a tray for the freezer, but there's no reason you can't purchase your own storage containers.

I used a mortar & pestle to grind up steamed food or my mini food processor. I did not use expensive machines.

I use the regular bullet that i had before DD was born. You can use a regular blender, as long as it can puree, you don't need anything special.

I did it using the regular Magic Bullet. It is so easy. I wouldn't buy a special machine for it.

Making your own baby food question

i never had one of those baby bullets, i just used my food processor. it was very easy. i would buy the food on Sunday, steam it up and mix it in the food processor. i would leave some in the fridge for the next 3 days and freeze the rest in trays similar to ice cube trays. i made enough for at least a week at a time, if not more. i would say i spent maybe an hour each week making baby food.

The baby bullet kind of stinks :( The motor is not strong enough. You are better off with the blender. It is the same idea anyway.

I have the ninja and the magic bullet. I used one of those. Oh and my regular food processor too.

This exactly.. I would do a ton on a Sunday and have a LOT of food, some for a month some for a week or so, depended on how much the veggie/fruit made.

I never had any bullet or anything... I also just used my food processor!

ETA I exclusively gave homemade food... so much easier!

I either mashed by hand or used the food processor. Super easy! i would make enough for a few weeks and freeze it all.

Exactly this. For my every day food I used glass baby food jars that I kept reusing and for the freezer I purchased 4oz containers that came in a storage tray -- forget the brand but they were from BBB

Making your own baby food question

For me personally, I found it easier to steam everything on the stove and grind it up in the food processor. I batch cook and freeze it in ice cube trays, pop out the cubes and store it in ziploc bags. I do use the mini food processor/chopper every day, though for things like strawberry, mango, or blueberries etc.
